Ordinary Decent Criminal is a film directed by Thaddeus OSullivan and stars Kevin Spacey, Linda Fiorentino, Helen Baxendale, Peter Mullan and Stephen Dillane. It is a story of a colossus of the Dublin underworld with the central character loosely based on Martin Cahill (The General). Spacey plays Michael Lynch, a suave and sardonic criminal, whose robberies are committed with such a trademark flair and panache and endear him to the Irish public. The film culminates in an elaborate art theft from Dublins main gallery, which sees him outwit the police, interpol and the rest of the criminal fraternity. The accompanying soundtrack on Atlantic Records, is notable for the presence of some rare solo work from Blur frontman Damon Albarn who contributes five tracks to the record. Three songs (one of which, One Day At A Time is a collaboration with Robert 3D Del Naja of Massive Attack) and two score passages are included on the album Damon also scored all the incidental music for the film. Also included are tracks from Shack, Bryan Ferry and Bis. To hear Damon's Five songs go to http://blur.org.uk/odcst.html |
