New Single!
The NME issued the following information on their website at 10:30am on Tuesday 17th
November. However, the information has since proven to be wrong. Blur management reacted to NME's news, stressing that it is just a rumour. Apparently, a single has yet been decided on and the title of the supposedly 'new single' is incorrect:

Blur have finished recording their new album - and a track called 'Tender Is The Night' is being tipped as the first single. A band spokeswoman said they were currently in London's Sarm Studios with producer William Orbit giving the album its "final tweaks". It is expected to be released in March, with the single preceding it in February. 'Tender Is The Night', described as "anthemic", is the current band favourite to be the first single from the album although the final decision has not yet been made. The words "Tender is the night" open the song, which later goes into a chorus where Damon Albarn sings: "Love is the greatest thing". It concludes with a gospel choir. It's described as being a bit like John Lennon's 'Give Peace A Chance' and The Rolling Stones' ' 'You Can't Always Get What You Want'.

More news will be posted on the new single and album as soon as it is confirmed.
