This is a dilemma. If Dante is another dumbarse character created by someone, why? I cannot imagine ever getting that bored that perpetuating someone too stupid to read the answer to their own question seems like a really good use of time.
However, if Dante is actually a real person, why can't they read the answer to their own question? The fact that they are typing proves that they are not totally illiterate, and other Copers seem to know this person, like they've chatted with them.
