Thanks Kenzie. You're sweet. I haven't had much of a "Happy Birthday" in the usual sense, but I got some funky new threads to wear and won fifteen bucks on a scratch'n'match ticket. Even better was NOT having to see my religious fanatic and/or Aussie Rules-obsessed relatives standing around me in droves singing "Happy birthday". So it hasn't been all bad. Not bad at all, come to think of it. Nice and quiet.

Ontario has a graduated licensing system. at 16 you can take your written test to get a G-1, which means you can drive with someone who's had their regular license for at least 4 yrs, in the front passenger seat. you can't drive on highways though. then you can take your driving test to get your G-2 (basically like a regular license, except you need to have blood alcohol level of 0) either 12 months later if you don't take driving school, or 8 months if you do.
