Yes, it is a marvelous Morrisey song off the what is in my opinion over rated Your Arsenal Lp, but beyond that, is'nt slightly true. Are we not all zealous people?

I've never liked Morrisey.

I'm sorry. I too once was an enormous Led Zeppelin fan, I tried to grow my hair out like Robert Plant for a very tragic three month period.(her is far too thick and curly for that, very very messy afair) I would'nt listen to anything else but Led Zeppelin, I own their first six albums, I very much so apreciate them and recognise their influence and the greatness they once obtained from 68-75, after that they became embarrasing arthiritic old men on a rock stage in tight pants.
Anyway, like I said, I respect the band for what they did, but I've grown past that myself, and I'm sorry for upsetting certain people( +---- )

I agree that Led Zeppelin wrote classics, but "good taste and class"???
By TobyZ on Friday, April 13, 2001 - 01:52 pm: |
Zeppelin had nothing to do with 'good taste and class'! Zach, I love ya buddy, but you're a dumb mother f'er sometimes.
Zeppelin was the exact opposite of 'good taste and class'. It was about viking warriors storming into town singing about elves and crazy shit like that while seducing the towns women! It was about riffs that could knock down walls, and melodies that could south crying babies. It was about the most powerful and daintily intricate drum work ever. It was about so many things, but for fucks sake it wasn't about 'good taste and class'.
By alex on Friday, April 13, 2001 - 07:24 pm: |
Exactly Toby, you understand. Zach.... I believe you've become blinded by your sword and its greatness. Perhaps we should fight while amidest giant eculyptus tree's.(god I hate that movie)

Thats my idea of class in 1970s rock... they kept to good classic music while pushing the envelope... compair Led Zeppelin tho black sabbith... Then you will see zeppelin had more class you can shake a joint at... now if you want a great UNclassy rock band... Go for the stones!!!! Ahhhhhh i love them too!!!!!!

I hate to do this Toby, as explaining a joke tends to kill it but it seems I must.
I was talking about Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon(which I loathe that film more then anything, its even made me have a certain hatred for Taiwan in its entirity) Oh, and I'm prepared for the hate feedback now, "you hate Crouching Tiger!!!blah blah" Shut up!
By TobyZ on Monday, April 16, 2001 - 07:36 am: |
Crouching Tiger was boring as sin. There's so many good movies that have come out'ta Hong Kong in the past 5 years, and that's the one that becomes huge. I was disappointed with it, but hopefully this will open the doors for the great movies to reach the states.
And Angie, ummm. . . no, I didn't. But I'm thinking of starting a harem of coping girls, so click my addy and send away ;)
By alex on Tuesday, April 17, 2001 - 03:15 am: |
My personal favourite via the Hong Kong industry has to be Fallen Angels, thats the greatest movie. I suppose it never made it to big in the states as there was no people walking up large tree's or walls.

I've not seen Couching Tiger, Vomiting Dragon but I've watched a few clips of the fight scenes on tv. I know some people think they are spectacular but to me they looked shit.
What can I say? They did all these running up wall tricks (as mentioned above) but you could tell it was all done by special effects and ropes (like the Matrix but with out the explanation of gravity defying mind control). Watch any Jackie Chan movie and you'll see him doing the same type of stunts and moves but he is really doing them. As an excellent athlete, choreographer, matial artist, stuntman and physical commedian his fight sequences are the only reason anyone watches his films because unfortunately the money put into his films can't supply the supporting actors, script developement, special effects, etc that can be put into a big hollywood production.
Oh well. I guess I'll rent Crouching Tigger, Hidden Pooh when it comes out on dvd and make my mind up then.
Jackie Chan's fights are the high fibre/low fat shits where what I saw of Hidden Drain, Couching Potato fghts were wet farts.

You are far to filled with joy for my liking. Tone down the posts please. And Crouching Hell is one of the worst movies I've ever seen.
