Is the Naked cheif big in the UK?

Coping: Personal - Off Topic: Is the Naked cheif big in the UK?
By zach on Saturday, March 24, 2001 - 05:18 am:

I am all for the British and all but this guy is a bit obnoxious...

By Hot, Fresh Soup on Saturday, March 24, 2001 - 08:20 am:

The naked WHAT?
I want to learn how to get down my staircase like Jamie Oliver.

By TobyZ on Saturday, March 24, 2001 - 02:25 pm:

Would you pronounce that name Jamie Oliver as Jay-me Ah-li-vur, or would you pronounce it Hi-me Oh-li-vee-aye?

By zach on Saturday, March 24, 2001 - 04:47 pm:

Hi-me Oh-li-vee-aye sounds much more creative

By alex on Saturday, March 24, 2001 - 04:50 pm:

For it to be Oh li vee aye, youd need an 'i' between the 'v' and 'e', so surely not the later.

By zach on Saturday, March 24, 2001 - 05:58 pm:

good observation

By chut on Saturday, March 24, 2001 - 11:30 pm:

I liked the newspaper columnist up here (well, I don't like the columnist actually, but I enjoyed her following comment): 'Jamie Oliver would need to be fumigated before I let him set foot in my kitchen'.

By zach on Sunday, March 25, 2001 - 05:05 am:

i would never let a truly naked person cook for me... it would lead to... well umm, NO!

By TobyZ on Sunday, March 25, 2001 - 11:42 am:

If you are gonna cook naked, I don't recommend frying anything. The grease spattering isn't pleasant.

By TobyZ on Sunday, March 25, 2001 - 11:44 am:

Ditto for spaghetti sauce.

By zach on Sunday, March 25, 2001 - 08:53 pm:

My thoughts exactly

By evil_eye on Monday, March 26, 2001 - 05:29 pm:

to answer the question, i don't know if he is big, i have never had the pleasure

By alex on Monday, March 26, 2001 - 05:56 pm:

The naked chief really does'nt bother me, I've watched the programme several times and you know, its entertaining-ish. However, he does look like he does'nt practice personal hygene well, so he'd obviuosly be a poor canidate for cooking naked, one of the Two Fat Ladies though...mmmm

By indigo on Monday, March 26, 2001 - 09:51 pm:

The Naked Chef (to clear up any confusion for those who don't actually know who he is) does not actually cook naked, has a fake South london flat (with fake South london accent) poshish parents, wife called Jules, string of lucrative (and highly annoying) adverts for Safeways (or possibly Sainsburys) soundtracked by Toploader, and really pisses me off.

By Jamie on Tuesday, March 27, 2001 - 06:26 pm:

Well then, you're a snotty elitist bitch who doesn't know where to use the shift key, and never got anything she wanted out of life either. Up yours.

By indigo on Tuesday, March 27, 2001 - 07:19 pm:

How do you know whether I'm a snotty elitist bitch? and why does it matter if i can't be bothered to press shift once or twice in a posting? I'm just saying, the all-pervading Naked Chef pisses me off. Maybe he's a nice person, with a love of Blur and fast food, who truly does spend his weekends zipping along to delis and fruit markets (and Sainsburys of course) on a scooter, never actually calls things "pukka" and doesn't assume that the most important thing in life is ripped basil. maybe.

By TobyZ on Tuesday, March 27, 2001 - 07:34 pm:

I love Miss indigo, but Jamie that comment was totally unwarented, uncalled for, and therefore f'n hilarious.

And indigo, ripped basil definitely isn't the most important thing in life, but fresh basil just might be. Or fresh cilantro, mmmmmmm

By alex on Tuesday, March 27, 2001 - 08:45 pm:

oh yes..cilantro..mmm
I have a friend that loaths cilantro(or Coriander depending upon where your from) because she says its a far to "trendy" herb, now what your take on it people of Coping/fans of cilantro. Is it to trendy? And if it is, should that effect your like of it?
I do eat at California Pizza Kitchen often, and its a typically 'trendy' place, and they use cilantro in quite a bit, so perhaps it is trendy herb.
If it does reach a point of total trendiness, I'd like to think that Chrisitna Aguleria in her attempts to get in touch with her latin roots would jump on stage sing come on over and lather herself in cilantro.

By Bree on Tuesday, March 27, 2001 - 09:30 pm:

what ever, Indigoe. Marie said you're a prostitute.

By ZACH+---- on Tuesday, March 27, 2001 - 11:12 pm:

Cilantro... hmmm? Right of the Paris runways. Yes, I believe it is a VERY chic and trendy flavor this season ... just a dash in a sexy hot Latin number (like the new salsa ensemble from la mexicos) really gives it that little bit of extra color to really set of that daring hot pepper red in the dish!
Absolutely smashing, babies!

By stereopop on Wednesday, March 28, 2001 - 12:40 am:

I hate cilantro. Zach knows about my deep hatred of Spanish stuff. I'm sorta bitter about being Puerto Rican.

By TobyZ on Wednesday, March 28, 2001 - 05:26 am:

Mmmmmmmmmmmmm, chalupa!

By alex on Thursday, March 29, 2001 - 04:47 am:

I dont think cilantro is really used in Spanish food to much. I always associated it more with Mexican and other latin countries.. Interestingly enough, it is also used in many traditional asian dishes(god bless the people at the food network for all they give us)

By stereopop on Thursday, March 29, 2001 - 12:25 pm:

Latin stuff seems to be pretty Spanish in my experience as a Latin person.

By alex on Thursday, March 29, 2001 - 09:39 pm:

Oh no! Not at all, Spanish food is completely different then latin food. Even within the latin comunity foods differ, i.e. Mexican food vs. Cuban food(I perfer the later) Cuban does seem to be a bit more similar to Spanish food then say the burrito of our friends across the border, but their still very distinct all to themselves.
I've never come across cilantro in any Spanish dish anyway.

By TobyZ on Thursday, March 29, 2001 - 10:34 pm:

Alex buddy, you forget we're American and can't be bothered. Mexican, Spanish, Latino. . . It's all the same dilly-o.

Now asian food on the other hand, has vast differences between Thai, Cantonese, Japanese, Vietnamese. . . MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM! Chicken Satay!!! Lo Mein!!! Shrimp in Black Bean Sauce!!! Pho!!!

How come the Vietnamese make the best egg rolls? I ask you?

By Ian on Friday, March 30, 2001 - 06:50 pm:

One of the Two Fat Ladies is dead in the ground. Sobering thought.

By nittaya on Friday, March 30, 2001 - 09:53 pm:

hey stereopop, you latin-ish? (latina, yeah, i'm aware). (the "ugliest person in bc" pic you got on your site... - i'm guessing is humble you - is dyed-blond - if i remember correctly - and not very latin-looking... am i wrong? ~great site though, quotes are funny...)

either way, all have a great day!
love, nat.

By stereopop on Saturday, March 31, 2001 - 12:32 am:

Ack! That's sooo not me. I would never put my picture up if I looked like that ... no offence. Haha ... long story.

If you wanna see what all the fuss is about, go to here or here ... one in the white and the one with the giraffe, respectively.

By indigo on Saturday, March 31, 2001 - 11:39 am:

aaah if you click on them i says "We're sorry, but this page is currently unavailable for viewing. " - I hate it when sites do that. Can u put your picture up straight on Coping? In fact, can everyone put their photos up? The only person I ever knew what they looked like was Big brett! As soon as I get my photos back (should be Wednesday) I'll put up one of me and you can all have a laugh.

By stereopop on Saturday, March 31, 2001 - 04:55 pm:

Hmmm ... maybe this will work. Go here.

By indigo on Saturday, March 31, 2001 - 05:08 pm:

yay it worked! I like knowing what people look like (mmm, thats sounds a bit odd doesn't it! honestly, in a totally non weird way!). Very nice photos Stereopop, I've got that picture of Damon eating a flower blown up on my wall!

By nathallie on Sunday, April 1, 2001 - 01:29 am:

ooh well, hope you guys are all having a great day!
love, nat.

By Andy on Sunday, April 1, 2001 - 04:57 am:

That is the beautiful Happy Kaelee Nittaya

By TobyZ on Sunday, April 1, 2001 - 08:53 am:

Amanda, in the picture of Ali, is that a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle blanket in the background?

And in the Lunch Crew pic, is that Zach on the end in the blue shirt?

By stereopop on Sunday, April 1, 2001 - 02:39 pm:

Yes and no. There's no pictures of Zach up yet. I need to get my most recent roll of film devolped ... it has a great picture on it of me trying to strangle him.

By Wateva on Sunday, April 1, 2001 - 03:06 pm:

Nice pics you got there- uh no, that didn't include Happy Kaelee.

By Wateva on Sunday, April 1, 2001 - 03:07 pm:

Andy's taste begins to freak me.

By ZACH+---- on Sunday, April 1, 2001 - 06:46 pm:

We also have a great "artistic" pitoral alagory for the american music industry!

By Toby Z on Sunday, April 1, 2001 - 09:37 pm:

Amanda, are you choking him like Homer and Bart?

By ZACH+---- on Sunday, April 1, 2001 - 10:26 pm:

yep

By TobyZ on Tuesday, April 3, 2001 - 07:10 am:

Amanda's the only one with balls enough to post their picture?

Well, here's one of me, not the most recent, but. . .

By TobyZ on Tuesday, April 3, 2001 - 07:13 am:

And for some reason if you just click the link, you get a Page Temp. Unavailable message.

But, if you copy and paste the link, it works just fine. I don't know why, ask Si.

By oldie on Tuesday, April 3, 2001 - 07:58 am:

Si, why?

By indigo on Tuesday, April 3, 2001 - 05:16 pm:

well, I get a "you have reached a restricted area" message. Am I doomed to not be able to see any photos?

By nathallie on Tuesday, April 3, 2001 - 09:22 pm:

ah, a previous message i had written a few days ago didn't survive the perils of bc posting!...

sigh. all i had to say was that Kaelee ain't ugly at all, you guys. it's just the 80s hair/makeup. oh WHYYYY??? and how you know her, manda? some kind of bc congregation at your school or what? it's very interesting...

have a great day!
nat.

By TobyZ on Wednesday, April 4, 2001 - 03:36 am:

My bad. I forgot to change it from Private to Public. It should work if you copy and paste the link now.

Sorry Indigo

By Wateva on Wednesday, April 4, 2001 - 08:08 am:

Ha. It does work. Nice photo anyway. sweet. I believe that it really wasn't a very recent one.

By indigo on Wednesday, April 4, 2001 - 03:32 pm:

Hey stereopop I just looked at your site - very nice. That picture of Kaelee isn't that bad, she looks kind of like one of those scary 5 year olds dolled up in a beauty pageant.

Toby, that photo is very cute, but I'm going to believe that you have matured a little since then. Nice lino by the way.

By ZACH+------- on Wednesday, April 4, 2001 - 08:18 pm:

Thats a good look for you TobyZ

By ZACH+------- on Wednesday, April 4, 2001 - 08:19 pm:

You look like the kid from the Denis the menace movies

By Ann on Sunday, April 22, 2001 - 10:28 am:
