I have recently purchased:
Morrisey's, Vauxhall and I.

Tortoise, Millions Now Living Will Never Die
Great stuff, like Mogwai on riddilin!
Aphex Twin, Come To Daddy Ep
Fun fun stuff, Richard D James serves up a pleasent bit of drum n bass with such grand lyrics as, "I want your soul, I'll eat your soul" love it!
PJ Harvey, Is This Desire?
Music to kill yourself to, fun for all!
Cocteau Twins', Iceblink Luck Single

I just bought the first And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead album, I haven't really listenned to it yet though. I wanted to buy the South album too but apparently it's not been released yet.
By sniff on Tuesday, March 20, 2001 - 03:36 pm: |
Yeah it's not been released yet.
By evil_eye on Tuesday, March 20, 2001 - 03:55 pm: |

salmonela paradiso (cox rocks)
By BakeSale on Tuesday, March 20, 2001 - 05:37 pm: |
The South albums not out yet ? cheers Sniff. One can never trust the notoriously inept staff at X-Records, Bolton.

This is bollox. Back to footy. Did any of you lot see how jaded Liverpool were at Derby County? That was a bloody lacklustre game. Sad stuff, yeah? Arsenal fucked up too; I blame that daft sod Gilles Grimandi. See him sent off in stoppage time, yeah? I would have glassed the bastard! What a tosser. Maybe Aston Villa is just cursed and we need not designate blame on the lads themselves. Some kind of Blair Witch, only it sticks exclusively to Aston Villa, and is therefore a Villa Bitch. Not even good for having a toss over. Just being a good sport, I mean credit where it's due...they've played decent in the past. Well, 16 points behind Man United can't be all bad, yeah?
And I send plenty of TLC out to all the lush birds of Coping.

Talk about twisting my melon, I forgot to point out that I'm not just A lad, but THE lad! OK, since I'm in a good mood, I'll begrudgingly concede I'm one of the lads.
By ~Ryers~ on Wednesday, March 21, 2001 - 12:54 pm: |
~the lad~ whatever so does it make a difference? Poor craxy boy, the lad and a lad is same.
By BakeSale on Wednesday, March 21, 2001 - 01:31 pm: |
I tried to be a lad once. Failed miserably, kept banging on about universal oppression.
By evil_eye on Wednesday, March 21, 2001 - 07:48 pm: |
i'm an opressionist!!(...damn, thats not a good thing is it?) :/
By zach on Wednesday, March 21, 2001 - 08:44 pm: |
I knew a lad once but he had to change his status because people kept confusing him with a bloke.
By stereopop on Wednesday, March 21, 2001 - 09:44 pm: |
I once knew this lad named Zach, and I thought he was a big loser. But I never let him on to that.
hehe.
By zach on Wednesday, March 21, 2001 - 10:01 pm: |
Thanks ... and after i started you a wildly successful fan club ... sniff sniff sniff
By ~Ryers~ on Thursday, March 22, 2001 - 12:32 pm: |
So what is the difference? A lad, The lad, bloke, guy, boy.
Oh, and yes, people never get thanked for starting fan clubs do they? I understand your feelings Zach. I weep for you.
By zach on Thursday, March 22, 2001 - 09:39 pm: |
Thankyou...

alex: it's spelt something more like "ritalin", but i'll give you the benefit of the doubt and say you must have made a clever comment about "riddling on ritalin" (to clarify: ritalin calms, not speeds, am i correct?)
and er, the newest albums i bought aren't that new at all (1977, Nu-Clear sounds, XTRMNTR...), but new-ish RADIO SONGS i love are
new pornographers: "mass romantic"
hocksley (? hoxley?) workmen: "strip tease"
and the new version of poe's "hey pretty".
yep yep, you know you deserve a great smile day!
love, nat.
By TobyZ on Wednesday, March 28, 2001 - 05:35 am: |
Nat deary, what radio station is playing the New Pornographers? Do they play Causey Way?
By alex on Thursday, March 29, 2001 - 04:40 am: |
*blushes* Yes of course I was making some kind of terribly clever comment about "riddling on ritalin".. *insert embarased sarcastic tone*
I'm aware 'RITALIN' calms...
By nittaya on Thursday, March 29, 2001 - 11:22 pm: |
pardon me, toby? causey way?
and the new pornographers... you know 'em? (i'm not as keen on their other songs yet, just that first single, which i think is amazing...)
(canadian band, some members from limblifter/age of electric in it, as well as neko case)
(and i was clarifying ritalin for myself, alex, 'cos while i'm sure it's given to ADD, i was confused: why would anyone want to rhyme SLOWER? didn't seem very cool...)
lol, smile y'all & have a great day!
love, nat.
By TobyZ on Friday, March 30, 2001 - 02:12 pm: |
Nat, sometimes there is nothing cooler and sexier than a slow rhyme. Aaawwwwwwwwww Yeeeeeeaaaaaahhhhh.
And of course I know who they are. It's all part of the "having no life" thing. And since I have a buddy who also has no life and has even more cd's than I do (which is an amazing feat in itself), we have plenty of time to search out cool tunes.
