People at work keep calling me 'Kevin' That isn’t my name. I don't know, maybe I should say something . . ?

I watched an ant crawl up the wall at work today. It got about half way up and then it fell. I've never seen an ant fall before. He's making his way back up the wall now. Let's see if he makes it this time... Nope. He fell again.

I was trying to think of words I had NEVER said at work. Menstrual came to mind, as did canoodle.

Last week, I lost my voice the very same day that I was supposed to start training my new assistant. Now there's a sitcom episode in the making.

btw, I like Porn dogs sniffin the wind for something violent that they can do.

Did I just say that or did I just think that ? I would type it, but there is no 't' on my keyboard.

I guess we all agree that dogs are better than cats ? Mmmm ? Eh ? Pigdog ?

People sometimes call me Matt. Which isn't my name. I sympathise enormously.

By chris on Wednesday, March 14, 2001 - 01:08 pm:

What is your name then Kyle?
Ok, that was self-contradictory.

Does anyone know what Black Grape are referring to when they sing: "Don't talk to me about heroes/Most of these men sing like [serfs?]"

By alex on Wednesday, March 14, 2001 - 09:32 pm:

Serfs, as in the class system of the middle ages, the serfs being the poorer of the two.

sometimes people call me "excuse me" when they dont know my name which pisses me off....they should do their research before attempting to talk to me

By BakeSale on Thursday, March 15, 2001 - 02:06 pm:

It's actually "sink like subs", Ana. As in y'know submarines.

By Hot, Fresh Soup. on Thursday, March 15, 2001 - 07:08 pm:

Ah, thank~you KYLE! You've solved a perplexing mystery for me. And person called "alex", I knew what "serfs" are/were. Didn't think Black Grape would, though.

By OiYouNo!! on Thursday, March 15, 2001 - 09:41 pm:

you bastard

How come Black Grape sang about wearing Reeboks, and then the re-foremd (some may say deformed) Happy Mondays signed a sponsorship deal with Admiral?

By TobyZ on Friday, March 16, 2001 - 02:40 pm:

Because their soulless moneygrabbers who have no standards or loyalty to anything but the next hit of smack.

By Shaun William Ryder on Friday, March 16, 2001 - 03:07 pm:

What ? Fook off !

By Hot, Fresh Soup on Friday, March 16, 2001 - 03:17 pm:

...as opposed to all those other clean~living, non~money grabbing, HONEST bands out there, bands who of course never endorse products via selling hit songs to corporate giants flogging fax machines, mobile phones (you name it), the aforesaid bands getting paid squillions of dollars for such vapid and cynical commercialisation in the process?

By TobyZ on Friday, March 16, 2001 - 09:21 pm:

Some have a bit of artistic integrity reguardless of what it may or maynot do to their commercial standing, where as some put a song together and say, "Yeah, that's a keeper. It'll put a needle or two in my vein it will!"

By Prissy on Saturday, March 17, 2001 - 07:55 am:

No offence TobyZ, but it seems a slightly losing proposition to cite Blur (I'm presuming) as an example of a band with high artistic ideals and noble intentions just so you can diss Black Grape & the Happy Mondays. How can you (or I, or anyone who doesn't know them personally) know what their bloody intentions or motivations are? Maybe the Happy Mondays are just more honest. Or maybe not. If you don't like them because you think their music is crap, fair enough though.
Any way, Damon has admitted he used to have a nasty cocaine habit.

By TobyZ on Saturday, March 17, 2001 - 12:23 pm:

When did I say I didn't enjoy their music? I've got Pills'n'Thrills and Great to be Straight and like them both.

The question posed was about why they would sing up one brand of shoes, then endorse another. I gave the answers I did because I truly believe that if Shawn Ryder thought that he could get money by selling his bodily organs to pay for some more crack, heroin, whatever, he wouldn't hesitate. It's sad and I pity him.

And I when I said "artistic integrity", I never specified any band, but you automatically assumed blur because the do seem to have more artistic integrity than the average band. As do Radiohead.

There's loads of music I love made by people I don't respect, but If I got rid of all the cd's I own made by people who don't fit in with my exact standards, it would be a very lonely cd rack indeed.
