Who/where would you want to be when you're feeling down?

Coping: Personal - Off Topic: Who/where would you want to be when you're feeling down?
By chris on Saturday, February 17, 2001 - 10:09 am:

I, would want to go out and be with a good friend and have a good chat.
It does depend how bad you're feeling, sometimes I just want to be alone and think things through. Sometimes though, you will feel way better to sleep and forget about it, and talking it through with someone is also good.
Being with friends usually brighten things up.

Anyway, does anyone love coffee here, I mean the sort that can't live without it?
I don't particularly like coffee anyway.

Neither do I. I felt crap today, and then our bassist started talkin to me. He's very nice... So I'm in a better mood, and I think he's adorable. In a sort of "I Have Gorgeous Blue Eyes, A Sexy Scottish Accent And A Tan" way... Ahem, excuse me.

By chris on Saturday, February 17, 2001 - 01:15 pm:

Well, I agree with you Lucky, the Scottish accent is great. Not so sure if I care about the blue eyes and tan though, but brown eyes are pretty nice don't you think?
What do you play then?
And I'm glad you feel better.

By caz on Saturday, February 17, 2001 - 01:25 pm:

Right now I feel crappy and I want to be with my friend but he lives 50 miles away :-(

By Anonymous on Saturday, February 17, 2001 - 02:19 pm:

50 miles to your nearest friend?...where do ya live?

By chris on Sunday, February 18, 2001 - 02:44 am:

I feel down right now. I'm always down in the morning, especially in the weekends.
Right now, I want all my friends to be online. That would make me happy.

Sorry for the repeats, the puter is a little slow today.

By Lucky on Sunday, February 18, 2001 - 11:44 am:

I play lead guitar. Yeah, I'm not really bothered about tans or blue eyes either, but they are a VERY nice bonus. Especially blue eyes like his... mmm nice.

And of course brown eyes are great. I've got brown eyes. Mwah hah hah.

By evil_eye on Sunday, February 18, 2001 - 11:54 am:

what about green eyes ? L

By Sammie on Sunday, February 18, 2001 - 12:33 pm:

when i am feeling down i imagine i am in a black room with no windows and no light, except for a few burning candles....and i sit on the floor and talk to people i haven't seen in ages or my favourite celebrities or someone i love.

if the mood is exceptionally black i imagine i am alex from a clockwork orange. it really takes the edge off depression caused by anger. because you can imagine nameless, faceless people and kick the shit out of them to relieve the severity of the emotion you are feeling.

if i'm in a mood in between these two (and it's usually pretty heavy) i just imagine being with someone i care about and i feel better.

By Eddy on Sunday, February 18, 2001 - 02:06 pm:

That's seriously fucked up shit man.

By stereopop on Sunday, February 18, 2001 - 02:37 pm:

I just go out and kill someone. I've gotten really good ... murder is like anything you take to, it's a habit-forming need for more and more. You can bump off every member of your family and anybody else you find a bore ...

By tam on Sunday, February 18, 2001 - 05:31 pm:

maybe with someone i care about who will tell me everything's gonna be ok!!! yay!

or maybe at a wicked concert that will change my state of mind

By cazza on Sunday, February 18, 2001 - 08:04 pm:

Anonymous> No. Not 50 miles to my nearest friend. 50 miles to the friend I want to be with. And I live in Stockholm btw.

evil eye> Green eyes are great =)

By rachel on Monday, February 19, 2001 - 10:07 am:

When I'm feeling down I like to read the ACO and listen to abit of music, then phone a friend up.
That's what I do anyway, maybe not the best, but it works well enough.

By Lucky on Monday, February 19, 2001 - 12:00 pm:

Oh dear, ALL EYES ARE BEAUTIFUL. I just happen to think our bassist's eyes are better. They go so well with... ahem... everything else...

By Eddy on Monday, February 19, 2001 - 12:06 pm:

When I'm down I get together with my friends Jack and Jim, I drink them and they make me feel happy. We talk for hours.

By Alex De Larch on Monday, February 19, 2001 - 12:27 pm:

i listen to the lovely ludwig van......

By rachel on Tuesday, February 20, 2001 - 08:15 am:

By Eddy on Tuesday, February 20, 2001 - 12:34 pm:

Tonight when I was feeling down, Jack and Jim were out so I had a night in with my new friend Mr Coruba. We drank happily.

By chris on Tuesday, February 20, 2001 - 12:36 pm:

Very nice Eddy.. Mr. Coruba?
hhmmmm.
same old story, out, talk and drink.
life goes around in circles sometimes, but there are bumps like there is on a doughnut.

By Eddy on Tuesday, February 20, 2001 - 12:41 pm:

Circles of bollocks chris my dear.

By chris on Tuesday, February 20, 2001 - 12:49 pm:

How lovely Eddy, don't you just love that doughnut metaphor I used?
Its about as creative as I can get.
Nice circle of bollocks..Mr. Coruba

By Eddy on Tuesday, February 20, 2001 - 12:52 pm:

I can't say "I just love" that doughnut metaphor, but if I was forced at gun point I would agree it was quite average.

And remember, Mr Coruba is not me, it's my friend, he's nearly gone though.

By chris on Tuesday, February 20, 2001 - 12:55 pm:

Why, how disappointing, its as far as I can get Eddy. Would you come up with a better one?
I mean doughnuts match very closely to what I was trying very hard to describe.
Now give me some encouragement and do compliment, for I won't be making any more metaphors.

By Eddy on Tuesday, February 20, 2001 - 01:02 pm:

The metaphor was wicked man.

By chris on Tuesday, February 20, 2001 - 01:05 pm:

That sounds better Eddy, I feel like a doughnut now, sprinkled with lots of sugar.
You know doughnuts were used to describe the red blood cell too.

By rachel on Tuesday, February 20, 2001 - 01:58 pm:

There are so many postings today, even though by the same people.

By Lucky on Tuesday, February 20, 2001 - 02:33 pm:

I don't get that red blood cell=flying doughnut shape thing. People are just trying to confuse me even more. EVIL!

By The Great Occifer on Tuesday, February 20, 2001 - 06:05 pm:

Don't be so harsh on a young metaphor creator, Eddy! We all have to learn our trade at some stage and ply our wares in some kind of forum. It's people like you that snuff out any potential for growth and increased confidence! I learnt quite early on that I should steer clear of metaphors; my strengths lying with other tools such as similes, onomatopoeia and alliteration. But I thought the donut metaphor was quite apt and rather adeptly phrased.

By Jen on Tuesday, February 20, 2001 - 07:47 pm:

hey gang, i'm scanning new pics *LOL*
*hugs and kisses to u all*
Jennifer

By stereopop on Tuesday, February 20, 2001 - 08:14 pm:

mmmm ... donuts ...

By chris on Wednesday, February 21, 2001 - 12:25 pm:

Thank you to The Great Occifer..
Well yes, I am trying hard and I told a few friends about it today although they were pretty negative about it..

Lucky, the red blood cell has been described to be in the shape of a glazed doughnut, 'cos it is the doughnut shape, and glazed as in the red blood cell is smooth.

But doughnuts are great anyway.

By The Occifer on Wednesday, February 21, 2001 - 01:43 pm:

The best thing about being a bassist is that because it's so easy you have plenty of time to make sure you are looking good. Any bassist who isn't a dandy or a playboy is just plain lazy, in my opinion.

By Lucky on Wednesday, February 21, 2001 - 03:30 pm:

Our Damo isn't lazy. He's a spaz, hah. We just had a practice, and he was wearing flowery shorts. Ahem.

By The Occifer on Wednesday, February 21, 2001 - 04:35 pm:

Did they go well with his famous blue eyes?

By Lucky on Wednesday, February 21, 2001 - 05:56 pm:

No. They were awful.

By Arresting Occifer on Thursday, February 22, 2001 - 02:09 pm:

Aha. I assumed so!

And now for a totally different topic...

Does anyone know where I can find the Blur song So You for download? I've been surprised how difficult it has been to find. Your help would be appreciated.

By Anonymous on Thursday, February 22, 2001 - 11:35 pm:

That's not Jen up there, scanning pictures or whatever. She's in London at the moment, and I doubt that she has internet access. Way to go imposter!
