Hello everybody. I'm currently listening to the aforementioned new Primal Scream album. For some reason it sounds rather disjointed to me, though as usual the Screamers have pumped out a few outstanding tunes. After a few listens I wouldnt rate it above their last two albums, let alone Screamadelica, though I'm enjoying it all the same. Which is entirely predicatable - I love that thrash guitar/aggresive-though-funky beat formula they've adopted in recent years.
Taking a complete stab in the dark, I'm predicting 'Rise' and 'Some Velvet Morning' to be the follow-up singles to the first single 'Miss Lucifer'. Two quality tunes. 'Skull X' is also very kewl.

Quintal,
I bought Evil Heat last week. I agree in that it's not as good as Xtrmntr or Screamadelica, but I think it's much better than Vanishing Point.
And Space Blues 2 is the sequel to a Felt song.

Mmm, interesting. I dont think Vanishing Point gets the credit it deserves.
Btw, I'm 95% finished the script with your ancient line in it, BS! About time, I know.

I quite like Vanishing Point....Burning Wheel is utterly *the gemme*. Give Out But Don't Give Up is a great album too. Xtrmntr seemed quite good when I heard it a couple of times, too. Evil Heat I don't have, but Screamadelica is nish.

ARGH!! Bakesale, I have been unable to write you lately, because for some reason the Very Nice Woman I am staying with has a computer that will not allow me to send any e-mails...
To everyone, have a lovely day!

Ho-kay Nat, thanks much for the update.
Chut - Give Out But Don't Give Up is like a comedy album. With reference to your thoughts on Screamadelica, I'm afraid I don't know what "nish" means...
| By Skrooie on Tuesday, August 20, 2002 - 11:39 pm: |
Nish means garbage. I agree with him, Screamadelica is utter shit, the worst fiver I ever spent. It was at knockdown price but I still felt cheated. Bobby should have stayed in the JAMC.
Vanishing Point is a good album though.

Some Velvet Morning like a Gainsbourgh/Birkin duet? Ho ho. I guess I can see some slight resemblance...
