Sean, we're singing from the same hmmm sheet.

By Boris Yeltsin on Monday, July 15, 2002 - 06:19 pm:

Yeah!

By Hooligan on Monday, July 15, 2002 - 07:21 pm:

Anyway, what about this Tugay pic? Where is it?
I am a huge fan of Tugay, he is a fantastic player who is extremely gifted and plays for a magnificent club. He is also very good looking taking the Worzel Gummage look to a new dimension

By chut on Monday, July 15, 2002 - 08:23 pm:

He actually *left* Rangers just over a year ago, but you're right about him being a fine player.

Hmmm from me too.

By Butter~Twirrélerite on Tuesday, July 16, 2002 - 07:11 am:

I'm Hmmm~ing too, but to a different sheet and for an entirely different reason than the one I have a vague feeling sean, Skrooie & chut might be sharing! Nonetheless, it would be nice if it were like a chorus not a cacophony. Which sounds pretentious as hell. Sorry.

Grrrrrrrrrrah!
(That "Grrrrrrrrrrah!" isn't meant for any of the other Hmmm~ers.)

Hello to all Coping birds and blokes, any way.

By sean on Tuesday, July 16, 2002 - 11:35 am:

Grrrrrrrrrrah - haven't used that before... hmmm

By caramel on Tuesday, July 16, 2002 - 12:50 pm:

I am also in a Hmmmmm mood.
I went to my Grandmothers funeral today and 'Hmmmm' is all I really feel like saying. :o(

By goose on Tuesday, July 16, 2002 - 03:29 pm:

hmmm

By chut on Tuesday, July 16, 2002 - 09:54 pm:

That's unfortunate. I was at a wedding last week, and the groom's father's funeral was about 4 weeks ago, so somehow, in this small space of time, the cycle of life has been demonstrated. As it were.

Hmmm.

By Hooligan on Tuesday, July 16, 2002 - 10:48 pm:

I take it the groom will die in 3 weeks!
Tugay for England! ho ho ho.

By Karla on Tuesday, July 16, 2002 - 11:53 pm:

Sara, I had a dream a little while ago that I answered your last post.
And also, that ryan was decorating a christmas tree in BlurChat.

And the other day I had a dream that Jessica was in BC by herself, and kept taking off her head and putting it back on...she had some kind of a weird marilyn manson make up on.

And those are a few of my recent BlurChat/Coping dreams. LoL, I know, I Know :D

Hmmm...?

By Skroo's Got Mail on Wednesday, July 17, 2002 - 03:48 pm:

Today I got home to find I had one new email in each of my hotmail accounts. Excitedly, I went round and checked them out, one by one.

Unfortunately, each one was from Hotmail. Ironically, they were giving me advice on how to 'fight spam'. I was fucking raging.

So, I mailed those cunts and told them "It would be easier for me to 'fight spam' if you lot would stop sending me it."

I'll let you know how it progresses.

By Hooligan on Wednesday, July 17, 2002 - 08:40 pm:

Haha, nice one, I had a very similar experience Skroofart.
Although my hotmail account is so spammed out with these porny virusy emails that I daren't open, most of them were from your girlfriend actually, lol, and certain other copers . I'm still getting over the sinking feeling I got when I checked my accounts 10 minutes ago. I'm sure they will take your comments to heart and stop sending those big, annoying, fat red junkmails!
Don't worry Skroo, I'll subscribe you to an online Celtic FC fanclub so you can get some decent junkmail.

By chut on Wednesday, July 17, 2002 - 09:00 pm:

I remember one time my account gor spammed by approximately 3000 identical e-mails. The funny thing is, I actually *tried* to go right through and delte them all. I gave up after the first 300 or so.

By Hooligan on Wednesday, July 17, 2002 - 09:11 pm:

Haha, that was me, I was up two days running sending you those emails!

By sean on Wednesday, July 17, 2002 - 09:31 pm:

does anybody eat spam nowadays?

By Skrooie on Wednesday, July 17, 2002 - 09:51 pm:

She's doing very well, thanks !

By sean on Wednesday, July 17, 2002 - 11:45 pm:

yeah corned beef is great - corned beef and super noodles with a sweet chilli sauce. sounds foul - tastes great!

By Skrooie on Thursday, July 18, 2002 - 12:04 am:

Lets hear it for corned beef !!

By sean on Thursday, July 18, 2002 - 12:08 am:

is that the name of big bretts band? no - thats just beef (shall i post this - seeing as i answered my own question?)...

By Brett Groupie on Thursday, July 18, 2002 - 01:10 am:

No, it's Corny Beaf you're thinking of.

By Scamp on Thursday, July 18, 2002 - 01:53 am:

My Mum used to force me to take corned beef sandwiches with a shitload of tomato sauce to primary school every day. I used to routinely throw them in the bin and go hungry or visit the 'tuckshop'.
Sorry to hear about your grandmother, caramel.

By Autonomous on Thursday, July 18, 2002 - 04:06 am:

By Shaunée on Thursday, July 18, 2002 - 02:10 pm:

And sorry from me too Car. Spam is revolting but I have seen my father and my boyfriend's housemate eat it and they both lived to tell the tale...
I'm going skiing next week...woohoo.

By Shifty on Thursday, July 18, 2002 - 02:27 pm:

HI Shaunee!! Spam or Corned Beef Kicks Ass .... Get some Spuds and mask them all up with some butter .... the mix it all up with loadsa corned beef and serve mildly hot with bean ... I grew up on the fecking stuff!!!
And I turned out great didn't I

And Skroo , Where's those Photo's!! Have you eaten them , or are you finding it difficult to give away pictures of me ?

By Skrooie on Thursday, July 18, 2002 - 07:03 pm:

Hahaha. I haven't got them developed yet, I just finished the spool on Sunday at T in the Park.

Corned beef and tatties ! Oh yes. I too have been brought up on the stuff !

Hows everything going anyways, Shifty ? Hows the move been and when you coming back up to Glasgow ?

Scamp, I always have corned beef sandwiches with plenty of sauce, it's lovely. Marion refuses to kiss me for hours afterwards tho.

Ah well, we can't have everything.

By Rita on Thursday, July 18, 2002 - 10:13 pm:

Oh Really?

By Scottie McClue on Friday, July 19, 2002 - 12:44 am:

Dinky Doo!

I've never heard so much rubbish in all my life!
Get the women off the outside lane on the motorway, that's what I say. These women drivers, I'm telling you straight, I feel like sending my driver's liscence back to Swansea. And the single parents, they drop their drawers then expect me to pay for it out of MY BACK POCKET. Give them chastity belts, that's what I say. And the fatties. All this "hormone" rubbish. The fatties are fatties because they stuff their faces, love. We need to point out the fatties and get them to stop.

Back to me pies. Dinky Doo!

By Skrooie McClue on Friday, July 19, 2002 - 12:59 am:

Ugh Corned Beef. Thank God Im a Vegetarian.

Shaun where are you going Skiing? Im going up to Hotham... we need some snow though.

By Shaunée on Friday, July 19, 2002 - 01:54 am:

Well hey there Shifty! Long time no see.
Car, I'm going to Perisher. We belong to a lodge right at the side of the top of the main slopes. Anyone who knows Perisher, it's just up from Sundeck. I've never skied in Victoria before, it'd be good to compare them. And i'm off now to serve food to rich hungry people and don't I enjoy it so...

By Skrooie on Friday, July 19, 2002 - 02:46 am:

Ugh, a vegetarian.

Thank God I eat Corned Beef.

By caramel on Friday, July 19, 2002 - 03:15 am:

Perisher's cool Shan... they have some great runs. I was there last year. I hope Hotham's good. If not, I'm going to Bulla.

Hahaha Skroo. The last thing you feel like doing after working in the Medical field is coming home to corned beef, particulary if you have just seen someones organs. Lol. I've never liked the taste of meat though and I enjoy being a Veggie. :o)
Tofu is great.

By Scamp on Friday, July 19, 2002 - 07:28 am:

Actually Skrooie, I too found corned beef sandwiches with sauce lovely, but everyone used to give me shite about how disgusting they looked. That's why I threw them away. The contents of my primary school lunches were a great source of controversy, for some reason. More so for the Salt and Vinegar Sandboy chips and doughnuts than the corned beef sandwiches. Everyone else seemed to have stay at home Mum's who prepared balanced, healthy diets. Strange times, the eighties.

Hows that his fault, I ask you ? Anyways, he's having to move, which is a major bummer.

Why is there nothing good on Top Of The Pops tonight ? I'll tell you why, because I bothered to check. Any time I miss it, there's at least one band I like on it.

Whats the public feeling on corned beef today, then ? I'm in nostalgic mood, as I used to have baked tottie with c.b. every saturday, you see.

I know this is hideously off-topic for a Blur messageboard, but this is what the NME is saying :

The new BLUR album will definitely be released in January, according to frontman DAMON ALBARN.

The as yet untitled follow-up to 1999's '13' has been the subject of much speculation oscillating between rumours of its near completion and it just being at the beginning of the process.

Speaking to MTV last weekend ahead of a Gorillaz live show, Albarn was keen to nail the rumours.

"The record itself will definitely be out in January," he said. "We'll put a white label out in the next couple of months and it won't have our name on it, but it'll take a lot of people by surprise. We're hoping people play it not knowing who it is."

Albarn added that Blur had benefited from the work he had been involved in with the Gorillaz project. "Hopefully the record we're just finishing will represent a shift," he said. "We're working with some really interesting producers, Neptunes and Norman CookFatboy Slim]."

However, his remarks have caused confusion within the Blur camp. A spokesperson said this afternoon that despite his remarks, the album had no definite release date scheduled, and that while some producers had been approached none had been confirmed. A spokesperson for Neptunes confirmed that the super-producer duo had been approached, but could not confirm which, if any, tracks had been completed. Fatboy Slim recently told NME he wasn't sure if he was needed for the LP following a drunken row with Albarn

In addition, Albarn hinted that Gorillaz may head off now in a new direction.

"It's probably our last ever gig, before we morph into a film," he said of the animated group. "Next time anyone will see them is in a blockbuster."

By News on Wednesday, August 7, 2002 - 03:40 pm:

Oasis stars hurt in crash

Two members of rock band Oasis escaped serious injury when they were involved in a head-on car crash during their United States tour on Tuesday.
Noel Gallagher and guitarist Andy Bell were taken to hospital by ambulance and treated for shock, cuts and bruises after their taxi was hit by another vehicle in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Liam Gallagher was not in the taxi

Gallagher was sitting in the front of the taxi and suffered "heavy facial bruising" and seat-belt cuts, the band's official website said.

Keyboardist Jay Darlington, former member of UK band Kula Shaker who was recruited by Oasis for the tour, was also hurt.

"It was quite a big collision but the taxi did have air bags which cushioned the impact. But we understand they are all fine," a spokeswoman for the band said.

"Jay has got his hand strapped up but they don't think it is anything very serious. It's possibly something to do with the ligament."

The band cancelled Wednesday's concert in Indianapolis, and doctors have ordered the trio to rest for two days.

It is not known whether the other dates on the three-week US tour will be affected.

Most of the injuries were caused by air bags and seat-belt burns, the website said.

Gallagher's mother Peggy said she heard about the crash from the TV, and that the trio were in the taxi going shopping after a gig.

"Thank God they are all right," she said. "Noel was taken to hospital, he was suffering from whiplash, but they are all fine.

Ex-Ride guitarist Andy Bell joined Oasis in 1999

"Liam was not with them, I assume he was probably in bed because it was after a gig.

"Noel was a bit shaken up because he has got seat-belt bruises but thank God he was wearing a seat belt."

Hospital doctors told the musicians to rest for 48 hours to let their prescribed medication take full effect.

Darlington will return to hospital on Wednesday for further treatment.

The band said the Indianapolis gig would be rescheduled for later in the year.

Setbacks

The next date on the tour is due to take place in Philadelphia on Friday, 9 August.

The US tour had already faced early setbacks after Noel lost his passport and his brother, singer Liam, was forced to retire from the first show because of voice problems.

Noel only managed to enter the country after the US embassy agreed to rush through a new visa for a spare passport that was kept at his management company's offices.

The problems were the latest chapters in the band's eventful history of touring the US.

Hampered

In 1995, a US tour was abandoned after a bassist who had been recruited to stand in for the ill Paul McGuigan walked out on the band.

The next year, Liam was three days late in joining his bandmates in the US because he wanted to stay in London to look for houses with his then wife Patsy Kensit.

The tour was hampered by poor ticket sales, and Noel cancelled the final four shows, declaring he was sick of trying to break the US market.

Their latest album, Heathen Chemistry, is currently at number four in the UK album chart.

I heard listening to their last album was like being in a car crash. Except a lot slower, and possibly more painful. Maybe it's poetic justic.

Oh come on. I'm only kidding. Get well soon Oasis.

Did Noel permanently injure his right hand, perchance ? Lets hope so.

'Lo Skroo :) Still here, eh? I cannae believe no-one's given you and Chut your own late-night goofball variety show -- a la Wayne's World -- yet...

Sara -- uh, George -- a year is a long time in rock n' roll, my girl: much has changed. I dropped out at the end of last year and have been biding my time in a bottle-o ever since(!) Saving my pennies to go round the world in November. But I got plenty o' free time (and an '88 Laser whose engine makes a tinkly sound when you pick up speed) so we should arrange to bump in to each other one of these days... ;)

My response time: 0.22

By leanne on Thursday, August 15, 2002 - 11:37 pm:

Hello? Is anybody here?

By Sarki on Friday, August 16, 2002 - 09:07 pm:

No. Turn the lights off on your way out will you!

By Rob on Saturday, August 17, 2002 - 05:10 pm:

My response time was 18 seconds, due to not hitting the mouse hard enough.

By Quintal on Sunday, August 18, 2002 - 03:30 pm:

Woo! What a fun test.
It is a bit addictive, isnt it? My best times were 0.22 as well (I got that about 5 times in a row) until I snuck in a 0.16. That's when I decided I'd throw in the towel.

By Quintal on Tuesday, August 20, 2002 - 10:09 am:

Ho ho. I just got 0.11. And my girlfriend got 0.16. No, I'm not talking about our blood alcohol content, I'm talking about our reflex scores from that site.

By indigo on Tuesday, August 20, 2002 - 10:40 am:

Does this mean that you have been practicing it solidly for the past 2 days inbetween posts? i gave up when i couldn't beat 0.4, and decided my computer was too slow.

By Pher on Tuesday, August 20, 2002 - 11:32 pm:

Monkey nuts....i must have really bad reflexes...no wonder my driving is crap....my best is 0.28...and i cant seem to get any better than 0.33 now...

By Skrooie on Tuesday, August 20, 2002 - 11:41 pm:

I'm pretty constant at .27, although I have sneaked in a good few .22s.

By Quintal on Wednesday, August 21, 2002 - 01:38 am:

Yes, I havent left this seat, indigo. I had one particularly bad go last night when I fell asleep for seven hours and only hit 'Stop' when my head rolled off my keyboard and onto my mouse, but apart from that I've been doing alright. There's a nice little trick you can do to increase your score... while your waiting for the screen to change colour, hold the mouse button down, then just let go when the colour changes - if you get my drift. It saves you a bit of time.
God, I find insignificant skill games like this quite addictive.

By indigo on Wednesday, August 21, 2002 - 02:53 pm:

0.013 seconds! Apparently I have "the reflexes of a snake". I was actually trying to do Quintal's "trick" and I pressed the button before I even saw it change colour. Oh well, that's taken all the fun out of it now I know I can't improve on that. dammit! How can I waste my time online now?
