Maybe I should know things like these, but I'm really confused as to the true nature of the Cowboy Song. Just about anything anyone could tell me about this song (including the lyrics ;) would be greatly appreciated.

You may read somewhere that it's a collaboration between Blur and Radiohead... it ain't! I think it's just Damon and the Dust Brothers, or... something...

By sm@sher on Wednesday, March 6, 2002 - 06:29 am:

wdf? i didint know that lol

By Chris on Wednesday, March 6, 2002 - 04:31 pm:

okay who's the wiseguy? LOL

By Rob Ruck on Wednesday, March 6, 2002 - 07:54 pm:

Say what? I always thought it had a rather Radiohead'ish sound to it :(
So this song is supposed to be labeled Dust Brothers feat. Damon Albarn or something, then?

By Lucky on Thursday, March 7, 2002 - 07:40 am:

Awww sorry, Rob. Yeah I spose it's called that, and it's off the 'Dead man on Campus' soundtrack.

By kacy on Thursday, March 7, 2002 - 08:19 am:

It's a blur song, produced by the dust brothers. and it was the basis for later b-side 'all we want' which is on Tender CD1.
hmmm, I haven't been here for months and this is what I post when I come back? Trivia, gotta love it.
NME's website says blur have 14 tracks for a new record. Don't have the link, sorry...
this site is SO outdated now. Not that much has been going on.

By BakeSale on Thursday, March 7, 2002 - 11:18 am:

Hate to quibble Kacy, but wasn't 'All We Want' on the Beetlebum single ?

By Rob Ruck on Thursday, March 7, 2002 - 11:54 am:

kacy, and anyone else for that matter, should stop by http://www.saunalahti.fi/~hynninen/vblurpage/index2.htm for fresh blur-related news almost weekly (I suspect the guy gets his news from NME and other music magazines, but it's still quite pratical.)
Anyway, that's 14 of 16 songs, and Damon is rambling on about the posibility of finishing the album by May. (Yeah, right!)

By Lucky on Thursday, March 7, 2002 - 05:41 pm:

Hahahaha I'm sorry, I just realised it was the 'Ultimate Blur Resource Centre' and I said the initials out loud. Hahahahaaa... *goes off to her corner*

By Simon on Friday, March 8, 2002 - 08:12 am:

I think Beetlebum had All Your Life, Tender had All We Want. :o)

By BakeSale on Friday, March 8, 2002 - 11:10 am:

Fair play then. I stand corrected, Mr. Simon.

By tracey on Friday, March 8, 2002 - 09:38 pm:

Yep - Beetlebum had All your Life, Tender had All We want ...I know aswell cause I bought both of those singles! :o)

By Rob Ruck on Sunday, March 10, 2002 - 09:13 pm:

I feel quite silly never having noticed that a small part of Cowboy Song sounds EXCACTLY like All We Want.
And Lucky: Hardy harr harr! Yeah, you SHOULD stand in that corner.

By STONE COLD STEVE AUSTIN on Sunday, March 10, 2002 - 09:34 pm:

WHAT?

By Rob Ruck on Sunday, March 10, 2002 - 10:01 pm:

Oh god! How am I supposed to be able to resist posting something funny in a response to THAT!?

(Ok, pull yourself together Rob... You're only going to make an arse out of yourself anyway.. Calm down and lean away from the keyboard.)

Now, what was the question again?

By Lucky on Monday, March 11, 2002 - 11:43 am:

Aaarggggghh nooooo!

I've just managed to persuade (persuade = blackmail, send death threats to, etc) one of my wrestling fanatic friends to STOP saying that BLOODY catch-phrase! It's following me everywhere! Why is life so cruel?

By STEVE AUSTIN 3:16 on Monday, March 11, 2002 - 09:12 pm:

WHAT!

By indigo on Tuesday, March 12, 2002 - 04:38 pm:

right. i come back after 3 days (one of which was my 18th birthday!) to be confronted by another load of crap from TW and Sarki, and even the sane people on this board seem to be going mad. aaargghh

anyway, I'm going to a Travis concert tonight. nice.

By Lucky on Wednesday, March 13, 2002 - 11:11 am:

Happy belated birthday!

By indigo on Wednesday, March 13, 2002 - 04:08 pm:

thankyou! Travis was really good, Wembley Arena seemed almost intimate.... oh, and I just failed my driving test. However, in my new, positive, adult mood, I'm going to focus on the fact that I only had three major points, and I am not "a danger to public safety".
