Velvet Goldmine was fantastic! The only reason Bowie slated it was because it made him out to be an uncaring, egostistical megalomaniac who lost it all in the eighties becoming some sort of has-been light entertainer making shit music (this is true). Look at the film in terms not of describing Bowie and Iggy, but as a celebration of glam and the lifestyle that went with it. I fucking loved it, it's marvellous.

Velvet Goldmine was shit, because, if you are a historic music train-spotter, you notice too many "real life" events.

Exact copies of the life of Bowie and Iggy, and even a Mick Ronson look alike as Bowie's guitarist.

Even the names of the characters, "Slade" and "Ferry" are not subtle enough.

With all these aspects added, it just makes the movie look like a shit documentary, with moments which feel stolen from musical history. Because, they are.

Even though I am sure this is the point of the movie, it shows theft and no originality.

Though if you know nout about Bowie and glam, then you probably would not see the inticate events which relate to true scenarios.

Molko was shit, he always is.

The movie was also very difficult to understand.

A very sick movie, and not even a celebration of Glam, more of cringe effect.
