By Karla on Monday, November 12, 2001 - 11:39 pm:

And I still haven't figured out how to put pictures in here.

By viola on Tuesday, November 13, 2001 - 12:00 am:

it's easy - type \image (leave 1 space, then immediately after type{whatever}
then press preview/post message. then post message again, then download your pic and it should magically appear on coping!

By Karla on Tuesday, November 13, 2001 - 01:01 am:

Thanx, but I need to know what that "whatever" is...

-is it just a simple {image.gif} or {image.jpeg}?

-is it a special url (to my server?)

-or is it just {image}

-what...What?...{WHAT?!?!}

By Joseph Fiennes on Tuesday, November 13, 2001 - 02:27 am:

NO!

By Oom Papa! on Tuesday, November 13, 2001 - 04:00 am:

In between the brackets, where viola typed 'whatever', you just type what you want your pic to be called. You can call it anything, it doesnt matter. You then click on Browse, search for it and upload it. Easy!

By Karla on Tuesday, November 13, 2001 - 04:48 am:

Click on browse, search and upload it??

oh, that sounds like a breeze now!

hahah, Thanx :D

By viola on Tuesday, November 13, 2001 - 04:49 am:

Awww, please Joe?! You make such a sexy Shakespeare.

By viola on Tuesday, November 13, 2001 - 04:51 am:

Well, let's see...

I like Blur (do you?)
I have dark hair
I do not resemble a witch from Macbeth
I love stars

By Joseph Fiennes on Thursday, November 15, 2001 - 03:51 am:

Damon and I are friends. Blur is one of my favorite bands. Are you in school?
Where are you from?
Tell me more.

By viola on Thursday, November 15, 2001 - 04:42 am:

I am studying to be an actress in London. I wish I could be your leading lady... So will you marry me?

By Elizabeth I on Thursday, November 15, 2001 - 11:58 pm:

You sound like a cunt, viola.

By Joseph Fiennes on Friday, November 16, 2001 - 12:40 am:

Actually one of my close friends (Dar Dash) is going to an acting academy in London, what school are you going to?
What's your favorite movie?

That Elizabeth person sounds jealous

By Elizabeth I on Friday, November 16, 2001 - 12:58 am:

Elizabeth person? ELIZABETH PERSON?!

By Joseph Fiennes on Friday, November 16, 2001 - 01:08 am:

Very Jealous.

By viola on Friday, November 16, 2001 - 05:00 am:

O beware my Lord of jealousy, tis the green eyed monster which doth mock the meat it feeds on...

Yes, be quiet Liz!

Hello again Joe. I attend the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. My favourite movie? Hard to pick just one. I quite enjoy anything with you in it, how surprising eh? ;)

And Joe, what on earth are you doing on the internet? Didn't you once say that you had a "vendetta to destroy the Net" and that you wanted everyone go to the library and smell the dusty old books? Didst thou get bored too?

By Joseph Fiennes on Friday, November 16, 2001 - 10:59 am:

yes i did.

By viola on Friday, November 16, 2001 - 11:16 am:

so what are you up to thesedays, Joe?

By Joseph Fiennes on Friday, November 16, 2001 - 11:24 am:

Fucking my girlfriend.

By Oom Papa! on Friday, November 16, 2001 - 06:00 pm:

I just want to know who Karla is.

By viola on Friday, November 16, 2001 - 08:53 pm:

What girlfriend? I thought you said you were single... make up your mind Joe.

So are you gonna marry me? I promise it will make your eyelashes grow longer.

By Joseph Fiennes on Friday, November 16, 2001 - 11:53 pm:

Look it sounds like their's some impersonator because I didn't write the past two entries. My dear Viola, I am single and I do love chatting with my fans. They bring me closer to perfecting my acting and it is quite a joy.
Tell me more love.

By viola on Saturday, November 17, 2001 - 01:16 am:

can we meet up sometime, Joe?
We can get to know each other better... in the flesh...

By Karla on Saturday, November 17, 2001 - 07:01 am:

I'll tell you who I am if you tell me who you are.

By viola on Saturday, November 17, 2001 - 10:53 am:

mmm

By viola on Sunday, November 18, 2001 - 08:44 pm:

Joe, Is it true that you live in a castle?

By Joseph Fiennes on Sunday, November 18, 2001 - 09:48 pm:

Sometimes, I mean I travel a lot. I hate staying in hotels. They can be such a drag. I wish I didn't have to travel so much especially on planes. The food is just awful, so I bring snacks with me.
How are you doing today Viola? May I inquire you about your age?

By viola on Monday, November 19, 2001 - 02:18 am:

I'm nearly 39 Joe.

By Joseph Fiennes on Monday, November 19, 2001 - 05:25 am:

Liar, Liar pants on fire!
I don't believe you.

By viola on Monday, November 19, 2001 - 06:38 am:

I'm not lying, Joe. Are you angry? Don't be. You need to let it go. Why are you so sure I am lying? Any way, if you have any more questions I think you should email me and we can stop talking about ourselves here. We'll get to know each other better and build up a trust factor.

By Joe on Monday, November 19, 2001 - 06:41 pm:

I'm sorry about that little childish rhyme. I drank too much wine with dinner. I'm surprised that your 39 because you have a youthful tone.

I have had some scarry run-ins with fans so I'd like to get to know you better before I commit to anything long term.

By the real viola on Monday, November 19, 2001 - 09:11 pm:

Ahh, now we have a viola impersonator! The last two messages weren't posted by me Joe (that "viola" sounded so rude!), so please ignore them. I'm 21 years old. I have had a very busy day rehearsing for a play, how about you? What are you up to right now? But I do agree with fake viola, that maybe you could drop me an email, if you have time :) Or at least give me an address where I can write to you. Love you Joe.

By Joseph Fiennes on Monday, November 19, 2001 - 10:45 pm:

Well now we both have had our share of impersonators. This page is addictive. Damon told me about this web site and I think it's really cool. I like the "depth" to this page. Most fan pages only focus on the person not the people. I like the varying degrees of personalities.

Viola, what play are you in? When did you decide to act? I think I've had the acting bug since birth.
Love Joe.

By viola on Monday, November 19, 2001 - 11:37 pm:

I'm in Guys and Dolls. I've always wanted to act, especially on stage. Are you still doing theatre performances, or have you moved on to screen now? Are you working on a film right now or just having some time off?

Yes, this is addictive. But I'm delighted to able to correspond with you, Joe.

Love Viola

By Joseph Fiennes on Tuesday, November 20, 2001 - 12:50 am:

I love acting on stage. It has a certain electricity. The bright lights on the opening night are exciting. But there is money in movies plus I do come across some great scrips.

Sorry but I can't tell you what I'm working on right now I want it to be a surprise.
Goodnight Love.

By curious viola on Tuesday, November 20, 2001 - 02:43 am:

Do you have any other questions for me? I have a few for you. What is your favourite movie of all time, and which movie did you enjoy acting in the most?

Also - do you enjoy having to do sex scenes?

By viola on Tuesday, November 20, 2001 - 10:55 am:

Sorry I have this slight mental illness (I'm not crazy, it's just that I've had a few personal problems) and it makes me write messages and then change my mind about them, so I say it was an impostor. Sorry Joe. Please write to me so we can have a little more privacy! And is the reason you can't tell me what you're working on possibly that you're not the real Joseph Fiennes? I hope not, as that would mean I'm wasting my time doing this! I'd be devastated and may take to drinking.

By viola on Tuesday, November 20, 2001 - 11:14 am:

Btw this is the Amityville house, in Long Island New York. What do you think of it Joe?
The Amityville House

By viola on Tuesday, November 20, 2001 - 11:17 am:

and here...
THE AMITYVILLE HORROR: THE REAL DEAL

Joe?

By Lucky on Tuesday, November 20, 2001 - 11:59 am:

All these Joes are making me feel nostalgic. I wish old Swarbs was still here.

By viola on Tuesday, November 20, 2001 - 11:18 pm:

Aww, there are a lot of jealous people out there it seems. Joe - the Viola impersonator strikes again! I feel quite chuffed actually. lol

Even if you arent the real Joseph Fiennes, I can still dream :)

I think the greatest form of finding out the truth is through fantasy." - Joe

You're quite right.

By Fredrick Tomlinson on Tuesday, November 20, 2001 - 11:24 pm:

And the relevance of that compliment being what exactly?

By juliet on Tuesday, November 20, 2001 - 11:44 pm:

O happy dagger!

By cassius on Friday, November 23, 2001 - 07:52 am:

By viola on Friday, November 23, 2001 - 08:50 am:

Joe, do you think you're really Shakespeare?

By viola on Saturday, November 24, 2001 - 01:25 am:

hmm, I guess Joe must be busy. I miss you Joe! :(

By viola on Sunday, November 25, 2001 - 09:30 pm:

O please reply Joe...

By Rosalind on Tuesday, November 27, 2001 - 09:28 am:

I love you too Joe!

By Joe on Wednesday, November 28, 2001 - 04:15 am:

Shakespeare is my king and I am his servant.
My blessings to you dear Viola

By lady viola on Wednesday, November 28, 2001 - 06:46 am:

How have you been Joe? I thought you had forgotten about me (which is perfectly understandable). I hope you are having a nice day. :-)

By Joe on Thursday, November 29, 2001 - 05:08 am:

Dear Viola you are the sweetest lady. I do hope we meet one day. Hopefully, I'll bump into you at a play and we'll chat about 'Coping'. I do believe in fate.
Good night

By lady viola on Thursday, November 29, 2001 - 06:39 am:

We'll be in a play together one day, I just know it! :-) Btw, I was wondering if you write any poetry of your own?
Forever yours,
Viola

By lady viola on Thursday, November 29, 2001 - 06:53 am:

Joe, how do you feel about the students of the future visualising you as Shakespeare instead of the real Bard? I'm sure most people would gladly choose to imagine you over such a bad hairdo.

By Joseph Fiennes on Friday, November 30, 2001 - 03:40 am:

Lady Viola,
I love poetry. I'm a secret poet. Most of my poetry is deep and personal. After a busy day it sorts one's thoughts and clears the air. Do you write poetry? It gives depth to one's thoughts and it's very romantic, you know.
Sweet dreams sweet lady Viola

By lady viola on Friday, November 30, 2001 - 06:59 am:

I totally agree. I'm a secret poet as well. I would love to read some of your poetry... maybe one day we can share our poetry to each other in private? ;-)

I really want to see Enemy at the Gates. Did you enjoy acting in that movie? I bet it's much more thought provoking than Saving Private Ryan and all that American garbage...

goodnight dear Joe *hugs*

By BIG BRETT on Sunday, December 2, 2001 - 05:05 pm:

This has to be most INTENSILY DULL topic in the history of Coping!
EVEN MICKEYS TOPICS WERE MORE INTERESTING THAN THIS!
I BET EVEN ATEASE FREAKS FIND THIS ONE BORING. HAHAHABOOMBOOM!

By Butter~Mobile on Sunday, December 2, 2001 - 07:17 pm:

Too true it's boring! Big Brettster has a point! I know Micky's topics became hackneyed and repetitive, but this one really IS a shocker. Still, I started a "Romanov Riddle" topic once. That annoyed the hell out of a lot of people, so as the Ferris Wheel turns, so too does the Karma of Coping flip~flop relentlessly between agony and ecstasy; boredom and stupidity, fun and fresh frivolity.
Saucy nudes and priggish prudes.

By viola on Sunday, December 2, 2001 - 07:44 pm:

Ooh, you're all horrible! Horrible!! (except you Joe)

By Joe on Monday, December 3, 2001 - 12:19 am:

They are horrible! Viola I think this topic is grand. I think it's cool that you can come here and vent. Everyone needs that. I know I have days when I'm not the most popular person.
Viola post one of your poems and I'll post one of mine. I'm curious to see what you think.
Till tomorrow, my dear sweet Viola.

By viola on Monday, December 3, 2001 - 02:05 am:

come to me in dreams, and then,
one saith, I shall be well again,
for then the night will more than pay
the hopeless longing of the day
nay, come not thou in dreams, my sweet,
with shadowy robes, and silent feet,
and with the voice, and with the eyes
that greet me in a soft surprise
last night, last night, in dreams we met,
and how, today, shall I forget,
or how, remembering, restrain
mine incommunicable pain?
nay, where they land and people are,
dwell thou remote, apart, afar,
nor mingle with the shapes that sweep
the melancholy ways of sleep
but if, perchance, the shadows break,
if dreams depart, and we awake,
if face to face at length we see,
be thine the voice to welcome me...

By Joe on Tuesday, December 4, 2001 - 12:17 am:

I saw the ghosts of children at their games.
Racing beyond their childhood in the shade,
And while the green world turned its death-foxed page
And a red wagon wheeled,
I watched them disappear
Into the subarbs of their grievous age.
Ripped from the crators much too big for hearts
Raw gorgons matted blind, whose pocks and scars
Cried Moon! on a corner lot
One witness-moment, caught
In the rearview mirrors of the passing cars.

By lady viola on Tuesday, December 4, 2001 - 12:57 am:

Wow, I am impressed Joe! Almost as good as Stanley Kunitz ;-) heehee

I would post some original stuff (sorry Mr Lang!)but it's very personal and I don't want everyone else to read them (especially as some people here are so horrible!) And I'm sure you feel the same way about yours. Is there any other way we can share our poems? Hope you're having a wonderful day Joe. :-)

Love Lady Viola

By Joe on Tuesday, December 4, 2001 - 04:51 am:

Dear Viola! You knew it was Stanley Kinitz, he's one of my favorite! I'm quite impressed with you dear Lady well I guess I owe you one and here it is:

Shadows, and half-caught memmories now
The far seeming and misty realm of cypress
And somewhere, plaintive in the shadows,
Echos of my own, To the wild curlew's crying
The blue vase, my dear,
And the lone expanse of life without you

Oh foolish now, I know,
And Hopeless so to reminisce-
Yet, flooding on my sight, in tide,
The thronging memmories,
To me alone, high-stranded here and wan
Upon the shores of sense,
Who conjuring, sees over-beyond,
To landward and remote-
In the cool, sequested still and phantom grot
We two, as shadows beings habit there
Where in it's centered spanse
Ornate, waetherworn, and fading pale
And meshen in the fine filigree
The blue vase, my dear,
And shadows of our former love.

By viola on Tuesday, December 4, 2001 - 06:35 am:

Very nice Joe. I see you've been spending a lot of time in America - it's creeping into your spelling! ;-P

Last night I saw upon the stair
A little man, who was not there
He was not there again today...
Oh how I wish he'd go away!

By Anonymous on Tuesday, December 4, 2001 - 04:19 pm:
