GORILLAZ IN THE MISSED

UK group Gorillaz are fuming after blowing 25,000 pounds on an animated acceptance speech for the MTV Music Video Awards, only to lose their category. The animated film was to be screened when their single Clint Eastwood won an an award, but the gong was unexpectedly handed to Mudvayne for their single Dig. Told they were a shoo-in for the award, Gorillaz creator's Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett flew to New York to attend the awards ceremony, but walked away empty-handed. In a strange twist of fate, Gorillaz had earlier turned down a nomination for the prestigious Mercury Music Prize, which has a first prize of 25,000 pounds.

I think it was actually 20 grand - the article was in NME two weeks ago or possibly more, with the exact same title. Anyway, poor little Gorillaz, they're up for loads of other awards, and it was a generic acceptance speech, so itll get an airing somewhere
