I've read that blur are going back to the studio in november to record their next album. time to get excited a bit: this means NEW material people! yessss indeed...

Thought they'd been in the studio for a while. Anyway, does this mean we can expect an album in 2002? I'm looking forward to it, should be interesting to see what Norman Cook's done with the band.

I thought they denied the fatboyslim producer thing... and yeah, they've been going on about going back in the studio for ages, but it seems thay havent yet. Oooooh, exciting new blur album!

If it's anything like Music is my Radar, it's going to be finger-lickin' good.

By Rob Ruck on Thursday, October 11, 2001 - 11:14 am:

Noooooo!
I can't for the very life of me, figure out what possessed them to make MIMR the single over Black Book..
*sigh*
I heard that Damon was talking about making the lyrics more Parklife'ish this time around though :)

By A Coper Who Talks Sense on Thursday, October 11, 2001 - 03:32 pm:

Oh really? I had an inkling his lyrics would become more Music Is My Radar-ish... ie, unintelligible. A mature Damon reflecting on his society might be interesting though.
I've got to admit I think Music Is My Radar deserved being the single ahead of Black Book. Music Is My Radar was short, funky and refreshing. You cant release 8 minute space-out songs as singles... In saying that, Black Book was far too good to be resigned to the doomed fate of being a b-side. It definitely deserved to be on an album.

AHH NO! sorry, but please, not the MIMR argument again! for everyones sake, lets just agree to disagree.....

LOL

Ok, I'll be a good boy.
I think I read that lyric-thing somewhere on Rolling Stone's website, by the way..

Speaking of Blur...

I saw a chrysler commercial the other day on tv, and they were using Blur's "The Universal". Also, I noticed the other day that the following two songs kinda have similar lyrics:

~~~~~
ERNOLD SAME
(Blur)
Ernold Same awoke from the same dream
In the same bed
At the same time
Looked in the same mirror
Made the same frown
And felt the same way as he did every day
Then Ernold Same caught the same train
At the same station
Sat in the same seat
With the same nasty stain
Next to same old what's-his-name
On his way to the same place
With the same name
To do the same thing
Again and again and again
Poor old Ernold Same
Oh, Ernold Same
His world stays the same
Today will always be tomorrow
Poor old Ernold Same
He's getting that feeling once again
Nothing will change tomorrow
~~~~~

NOWHERE MAN
(The Beatles)

He's a real nowhere man
Sitting in his nowhere land,
Making all his nowhere plans for nobody.

Doesn't have a point of view,
Knows not where he is going to,
Isn't he a bit like you and me?

Nowhere man, please listen, you don't know
What you're missing,
Nowhere man, the world is at your command.

He's as blind as he can be,
Just sees what he wants to see,
Nowhere man can you see me at all?

Nowhere man, don't worry,
Take your time, don't hurry,
Leave it all till somebody else lends you a hand.

Doesn't have a point of view,
Knows not where he is going to,
Isn't he a bit like you and me?

Nowhere man, please listen, you don't know
What you're missing,
Nowhere man, the world is at your command.

He's a real nowhere man,
Sitting in his nowhere land,
Making all his nowhere plans for nobody.
Making all his nowhere plans for nobody.
Making all his nowhere plans for nobody.

But Blur will never do another new album. They've moved on. You just don't realize this. There used to be a trust factor there.
And there isn't anymore.
It's time you all faced it.
