I was just curious what your thoughts were on this band

By indigo on Wednesday, September 5, 2001 - 10:22 am:

ahhh, we adore them! Well, i think that was the result of the last convo on them. Read the "skinny wrists, pints of carling" topic.

By annie on Wednesday, September 5, 2001 - 07:25 pm:

i absolutely worship and adore them!!!well thats not strictly true cos i really only worship the singer, but i do adore them.snow and october swimmer are fantastic, however i think his voice can sometimes sound slightly scary-like he's going to implode or something, but saying that they are prety good aren't they?

By Skroo on Thursday, September 6, 2001 - 01:03 am:

I don't like them.

By Kenzie on Thursday, September 6, 2001 - 01:25 am:

May I recommend NTM (instead of the usual MC Solaar)for french Hip Hop?

By Skrood Purchases on Friday, September 7, 2001 - 12:31 am:

I can't recommend that at all. I would recommend :

The Strokes : Is This It ?
New Order : Get Ready
Weezer : Green
My Bloody Valentine : Any (Especially early EPs)
The Moldy Peaches : The Moldy Peaches

and plenty more. I'll get back to you.

By Sharky on Friday, September 7, 2001 - 03:04 am:

By Nat on Thursday, September 13, 2001 - 10:02 pm:

MC Solaar? ha ha, she was in my gr.10 french textbook ...
yeah sharky, skroo's got his head on pretty well. hmm, some one-off songs that amused me last year not long before the summer (besides jj72 ... october swimmer and undercover angel are my faves from what i d/l from napster)were:
hawksley workman's "striptease"
the new pornographers' "mass romantic"
dashboard confessional's "swiss army romance"
weakerthan's "confessions of a futon revolutionist"
poe's newer version of "heey pretty" ...

ooh, and classic never-famous canadians:
thrush hermit's "back of the film"
arrogant worm's "i am cow"

they made my year happy.

By Joe on Saturday, September 15, 2001 - 12:23 am:

I have heard of none of these artists. Apart form Poe.

I am quite drunk.

By Nat on Saturday, September 15, 2001 - 02:07 am:

aw, joey, i MIIIIISSSSSSSS you. (but you don't care, DO YOU? i quite like the extra 'K' i had going at the end of 'you'. maybe i should have left it? let us vote)
hm, all those artists are canadian, apart from d.c. and poe, i think. oh god, i love david bowie ...

(btw - how's the uni life going?)
