ah, i could cry ... damon ... i'm listening to trouble in the message centre. no one lives forever, but do you have to let yourself go so quickly? ARGH!
By chut on Monday, June 25, 2001 - 08:21 pm: |
I've always been a big fan of the receding 'look', me.
By chut on Monday, June 25, 2001 - 08:22 pm: |
I actually think 'receding' should be spelt 're-seeding', as in, 'in need of'.

I really hold no hope for Blur anymore. I couldn't care less if they split up. Fuck it, they SHOULD split up. It's time for something new...they've had their time in the sun, and now they're all doing different stuff which is fuckloads better than Music Is My Radar. Except Dave and Alex.
By Skrooie on Monday, June 25, 2001 - 11:57 pm: |
And Graham.
By Lucky on Tuesday, June 26, 2001 - 01:00 pm: |
Hey Wakey. Haven't been on icq cos I've been a bit busy... Have you got msn? I go on that quite a bit.
Okay I'm going to gloat now - I won our annual guitar competition for the THIRD TIME IN A ROW and the best over-all guitarist prize too! Maaaaaan this feeling's better than weeeeeed!!
Gloat over.

omg that's so wicked =)
By Chris on Tuesday, June 26, 2001 - 08:12 pm: |
Well done, that's pretty impressive. You must be one electric eel of a guitarist.
By Lucky on Thursday, June 28, 2001 - 05:41 am: |
Ifanku. I put the wee trophy on the piano so HA!
Guitar - 1
Piano - nil!
By Chris on Thursday, June 28, 2001 - 07:34 pm: |
That's symbolic of the demise of the piano as a popular instrument paralleled with the rise of the guitar, don't you think?
By Lucky on Friday, June 29, 2001 - 09:01 am: |
Yup. Rawk on!
By indigo on Friday, June 29, 2001 - 05:13 pm: |
hmm, but you can't play intermission on a guitar can you? well, i suppose lucky, maestro of the instrument could, but there isn't the heavy sort of lollopy feel. Oh, well done btw! I thought I'd psted that before, but obviously I'm going mad. ho-hum.
By Joe on Saturday, June 30, 2001 - 05:15 pm: |
You can have a go...it's fucking hard though. TAM! YOU'RE BACK!!

I agree that Blur should split up as well. I don't know, maybe it's just me getting old, but they seem to have lost all their charisma, ideas, style, sexiness, and musical and lyrical originality. I still listen to their old stuff but I don't really care about animated pseudo-hip-hop. I know Damon has a procession of personality crises, but his latest incarnation as commercial pop loving dad is the worst yet. So I just say, let's remember the good times. Oh yes. Sarah has spoken.
Maybe we could just rename this board 'people- brought-together-by blur-but who now talk about other stuff chat'.
By Joe on Wednesday, July 25, 2001 - 04:55 pm: |
Hello there Sarah. Presuming you are the same Sarah as of old...we should get quirky nicknames. But I can't think of any.
By Sarah on Friday, July 27, 2001 - 07:07 pm: |
Hi Joe, how are you? - I am indeed the definitive and only Sarah, not some new interloper. I agree my name is a bit unoriginal, as there are 5 Sarahs in my year at college (out of about 120 people), and it was also the most popular girl's name in 1982. Nice to see my parents were part of the naming zeitgeist...

Now Sarah, if you'd been born just two years later you'd have been called Rebecca, Claire or Emma, so there's really nothing to complain about. Oh, and if you'd been born in 1958 you'd have been called Beverley-Anne or Beverley Jane.
