By indigo on Wednesday, June 13, 2001 - 08:43 am:

Last years excellent debut, Showbiz, and the new album "Origin of Symmetry", out last Monday and also next Monday in limited edition (but I can't work out what's different about the limited edition one). Both brilliant!
I adore Muse, and at the concert i got a life size poster of Matt Bellamy, who is gazing down at me as i type. aaaahhhhhhh

By Lucky on Wednesday, June 13, 2001 - 11:04 am:

Ooooohhh I've only heard Sober and Plug in Baby so far. I liiike...

By CandyCane on Wednesday, June 13, 2001 - 12:04 pm:

aww they're adoarble!

By indigo on Wednesday, June 13, 2001 - 03:17 pm:

ah, and theres a fantastic cover of "Feeling Good" by Nina Simone on the album as well. I don't own it yet, but it was brilliant live!

By Joe on Thursday, June 14, 2001 - 11:10 pm:

Muse are without a doubt the future of British rock music. Apart from my band of course...I could have him in a fight. I hope he gets cancer. BAND FIGHT BAND FIGHT!

By Androgynous on Friday, June 15, 2001 - 06:03 am:

Yo! Joe, good to have you back man, yeah. How's the house you and Ian and Eddy Lewis all share together?

By Joe on Friday, June 15, 2001 - 06:06 pm:

Well...wha? We don't have a house...metaphorically we might..but...er..

Oh yeah, our Glam Rock Commune, that comes into effect this summer, possibly.

Anyone care to join us?

By Nittaya on Friday, June 15, 2001 - 08:52 pm:

mmmmmm..... i'd love to.....

By Shaunée on Saturday, June 16, 2001 - 03:30 am:

Muse are really nice guys. Everybody must like them. And their music. And the guy who tunes their guitars.

By Androgynous on Saturday, June 16, 2001 - 09:43 am:

Ooops, sorry Joe. He said you were on a mountain ski-ing or some shit...

By Skrooie on Saturday, June 16, 2001 - 11:40 am:

If Muse are the future of British rock music, theres not much hope, really.

By indigo on Saturday, June 16, 2001 - 04:40 pm:

Glam Rock Commune? Count me in! (and Skrooie, I am sure I had this argument with Eddy, so I give up now).

By Skrooie on Saturday, June 16, 2001 - 11:47 pm:

Haha, ok. I actually bumped into Eddy in the pisser btw. Nice lad.

By Butter~Twirré on Sunday, June 17, 2001 - 01:38 am:

How did you recognize each other, Skrooie? I'm not being facetious ~ I'm genuinely curious. Eddy may have seen some of your pix, but he himself never proffered any, so far as I know.

I'm trying to think of something less hackneyed to add than 'Small world!', but really, that's quite a little coup there, Skrooie, in terms of the unlikely materializing into something akin to a...pre~destined inevitable!

By The Occifer on Sunday, June 17, 2001 - 04:43 am:

Sounds awfully suspicous to me. You know how much he loved and admired you, Skroo. I hope he's not stalking you over there in London town. Did Eddy's hands wander anywhere they shouldnt have, ie under the table? How close was he leaning against you at the bar? Did he accidently fall on top of you at the end of the night and graze his lips against yours before apologising and leaning on your posterior as he got up? Eddy Lewis! He's still pissed off with me, haha. I really think he should be grateful though. Best of luck to him, anyway.

By Lucky on Sunday, June 17, 2001 - 01:18 pm:

Aaah I miss Eddy. Possibly one of the most argumentative people I've sort-of met.

By Skrooie on Sunday, June 17, 2001 - 05:07 pm:

Lol, no, let me explain how the introduction went :

Mutual Friend : Thats Skrooie from Blurchat !
Eddy : No shit !
Skrooie : Hello.
Mutual Friend : This is Eddy !
Skrooie : Haha, alright mate ?

Okidoki ? Lol. And no, he was too busy with a young lady to notice me that much. :o)

By Eddy on Sunday, June 24, 2001 - 02:58 pm:

Hahahaha, I was not busy with that lady Skroo. Complete lies. Don't believe him.

By Eddy on Sunday, June 24, 2001 - 02:59 pm:

Oh and Muse are fucking piss poor.

By Lucky on Sunday, June 24, 2001 - 03:54 pm:

Eddy! You brought Coping back to life! You miracle-worker you!!

By Skrooie on Sunday, June 24, 2001 - 10:09 pm:

Hahahah, well you were involved in some sort of pint induced philosophy, I'm not sure if it was at an advanced stage or not.

I heard a bit about you about a month or so after that night and I have to say my respect for you has undoubtedly increased, hahah !

Say no more, say no more !

You see, if folk are decent on Coping, they usually turn out to be good guys in real life ... so of course, myself and Chut Mango are insufferable bastards...know what I mean ? Hahahah BOOMBOOM !

Anyone met Big Brett btw ? Hahah

By Skrooie on Sunday, June 24, 2001 - 10:10 pm:

...and Muse are still bum of the highest order.

By alex on Monday, June 25, 2001 - 05:01 am:

Matt Belamy is a complete and total ass, and the rest of you sicken me as you fail to realise.

If you'd like you may see why I feel this way, look at this months Q, or any interview he's ever done in the NME.

By Joe on Monday, June 25, 2001 - 10:33 pm:

You are all fools. If you do not follow muse, then there are no heroes left in the world. I be t you naysayers are all old. If you were the age you are now in the early nineties you'd have hated Blur because you'd have been die-hard EMF fans.

By Skrooie on Monday, June 25, 2001 - 11:51 pm:

Unbelievable.

By Lucky on Tuesday, June 26, 2001 - 01:02 pm:

Yeah. So is your lack of open-mindedness. Hmm I wonder if that's actually a word...

By Andy on Tuesday, June 26, 2001 - 01:57 pm:

Muse have brought out 2 decent singles, and 2 albums, and blur have loads of decent singles and loads of albums.Muse are good so far, but they have a lot more work to do untill they can even justify being mentioned in the same breath as Blur.

By Skrooie on Tuesday, June 26, 2001 - 02:32 pm:

*woosh, right over the head*

Hahaha, it's nothing to do with having an open mind. If having an open mind means lying and saying you think something shit is quite good, I'd rather not have one.

I should make it clear that in *my opinion*, Muse are wank. And in the opinion of the people I respect, Muse are wank. Thats not to say no-one else is allowed to like them and say they are good.

Play nice, children.

*waits for another good band to come along*

By Eddy on Tuesday, June 26, 2001 - 02:49 pm:

Muse are shithouse, and Skroo, don't believe anything you hear, only the stuff posted on Coping.

I met 2 of the Strokes last Saturday on a late night chance street meeting. Fab was a nice lad.

By indigo on Tuesday, June 26, 2001 - 04:50 pm:

Did I say Matt Bellamy had a nice personality? And Eddy, for some reason I see you hating the Strokes with a passion. True or not? I have to know before I can take up the opposing position...

By Eddy on Wednesday, June 27, 2001 - 03:16 pm:

No, I like The Strokes. All because of the NME hype really. I'll better them though.

They have timed their rise very well, with the recent death of Joey Ramone, the music press are looking for something with an early punk nostalgia, and the Strokes have just been in the right place at the right time.

By Micky {The Lad} on Wednesday, June 27, 2001 - 09:44 pm:

Yeah, the Strokes are a bloody decent band and I think they can only get better. Hey Eddy, respect, man.

By Skrooie on Wednesday, June 27, 2001 - 10:51 pm:

The Strokes sound better than pretty much any other "new" band at the moment. More power to them. Looking forward to catching them at Glasgow Green, but thats because theres not really anythig else on, really.

Oh, but they're not My Legendary Girlfriend.

By Skrooie on Wednesday, June 27, 2001 - 10:53 pm:

Oh, and in my humble, The Strokes urinate on Muse from a very high height indeed.

From a New York skyscraper, perhaps.

By *ANGIE* Lil Shaven Kitten on Thursday, June 28, 2001 - 07:18 am:

hehe you r funnie Skrooie LOL!

*guess what I'm not wearing* hehe

By BakeSale on Thursday, June 28, 2001 - 11:43 am:

I saw The Strokes in Manchester last week. They were great but not quite as amazing as certain factors of the music press seem to consider them to be.

By Andy on Thursday, June 28, 2001 - 11:50 am:

Good idea for a new topic angie, "guess what Angie is not wearing"

By indigo on Friday, June 29, 2001 - 05:10 pm:

Eddy, Micky AND Skrooie like the Strokes? Weird. Now I'm confused. Although I assume you all like(d) Blur, so maybe it is possible for us to agree for once. I think I must have heard The Strokes at some point, they've been on all the compilations on magazines for the past few months, but I can't actually remember the song. Oh well. I am seeing Radiohead, Beck and Supergrass in a weeks time! I don't have the time to listen to new bands!

By Skrooie on Friday, June 29, 2001 - 11:24 pm:

Hahaha, I like that attitude : I don't have the time to listen to new bands !

By indigo on Saturday, June 30, 2001 - 08:43 am:

well, I can start again after 7th July. But don't you ever feel that you like too many bands already to start seriously getting into another one?

By Joe on Saturday, June 30, 2001 - 05:13 pm:

How in God's name can you like the Strokes to such an extent? They're a fucking tribute band! Muse have been inspired by Radiohead but taken it somewhere else, whereas I find the Strokes about as exciting as Ocean Fucking Colour Scene, or Oasis for that matter. Get SOULS people!!

Hi Indigo. Of course you have a soul, you're coming to see Radiohead. ONE WEEK TO GO!!!!!!! OH YES!

By indigo on Saturday, June 30, 2001 - 05:27 pm:

ooooooohhhhhh........ I had a great party last night, and at about midnight (while my mates were getting stoned in the garden), I put Amnesiac on. It was all dark apart from some little fairy lights, and the ghostly voice of Thom Yorke trickling out of the window, and my mate goes, "oooh! chill out music!" and starts humming along. Very weird, but good.

By David Bellamy on Wednesday, August 14, 2002 - 11:07 pm:

Butterflies are all having fun. You know what I mean.

By Thursday Thomas on Thursday, August 15, 2002 - 01:47 pm:

Yeah!
