By Lucky on Thursday, May 17, 2001 - 08:26 am: |
'Old' as in God, Mad, Luci, Weirdo... those people? Or 'old' as in Chris, Grumpy, Stav etc?
Been here a while haven't I?
By indigo on Thursday, May 17, 2001 - 08:10 pm: |
you have! I remember Stav etc... weird, I don't think I'll ever feel like an "old" Coper.
By nat on Thursday, May 17, 2001 - 09:00 pm: |
stav was ian's friend, wasn't he? whose name was also joe...
By indigo on Friday, May 18, 2001 - 05:14 pm: |
Yeah - there is a whole thread somewhere about their antics at Reading Festival.
By Lucky on Friday, May 18, 2001 - 05:18 pm: |
Yeah. Oh dear I feel nostalgic... And I'm the youngest one here! Strange.
By indigo on Friday, May 18, 2001 - 05:46 pm: |
ahh, you can be young and nostalgic - I'm actually nostalgic for Britpop and Parklife/TGE at the moment - I just saw an ad for a little free mini festival in Middlesbrough run by the town council, and the headliners are Space and Shed Seven!
By *ANGIE!* : Crazy Kitten on Saturday, May 19, 2001 - 05:09 am: |
Yes you can so be young and nostalgic!! I'm only very young but i feel nostalgic about lotsa things hehe.. AND NOT JUST THE EIGHTIES!!! (although I did have a ball in the eighties hehe
By candy on Sunday, May 20, 2001 - 01:45 am: |
what the hell does nostaligic mean
By indigo on Sunday, May 20, 2001 - 10:43 am: |
Candy, I think you need a dictionary... (that's a book you look up words in)
By Lucky on Sunday, May 20, 2001 - 12:39 pm: |
You can check spellings with them too, dontchaknow!
By rob on Sunday, May 20, 2001 - 01:36 pm: |
Hmmm, do you remember the time when you had to use a dictionary to check your spelling? Those were good times, before Word spellchecker.
By candy on Sunday, May 20, 2001 - 08:01 pm: |
dont be sarcastic
By Rob on Sunday, May 20, 2001 - 08:20 pm: |
Actually, I was going for irony.
By Scamp on Monday, May 21, 2001 - 05:00 am: |
useless, neglible observation for the week...
Why does Word spellchecker refuse to admit that outside America you can spell words like 'realize' with a Z? the amount of angry red lines cluttering my word documents gives my writing a colorful, Communist quality.
But three cheers for the 'add' function.
By indigo on Monday, May 21, 2001 - 06:35 pm: |
Oh christ i can't stand Word spellchecker! and that bastard of a bent paperclip that keeps popping up! I turn everything off, on all the computers I ever use, or I go mad and start to kill.
By Chris on Wednesday, May 23, 2001 - 10:06 am: |
Hi everyone, especially Lucky, I know I've been away for a while but it ain't easy being a full-time student and part-time civil servant who's having problems in his love-life and is doing exams. How are you all doing?
By Lucky on Wednesday, May 23, 2001 - 10:16 am: |
Hi Chris! I'm all right thanks. But I've got exams next week... Blargh it's been the week from hell and I've just been playing softball in the heat and I'm so tired I can harldy tupw prepidly;doyvvb l9u.....
By indigo on Wednesday, May 23, 2001 - 07:17 pm: |
too hot.... just spent 4 and a half hellish hours locked in an art room with my attempt at a crappy silk painting in the name of AS art exams, followed by a nice trip to the dentists! And JJ72 have been postponed to 19th of June!
but its ok becuase i am seeing Muse next Tuesday!
yesyesyesyesyes!!!!!!
By Chris on Thursday, May 24, 2001 - 11:36 am: |
oh yes, it's hot alright... at least after tomorrow term finishes and I can start enjoying this weather. I'm dressed for it already in my sunny yellow Blur t-shirt. It's getting some odd looks though. But speaking of Bur, when are they going to get together and record something? Damon's arsing about with Gorillaz and Graham's getting involved with Camden local politics when what they really should be doing is creating the next Blur album.
By Micky {The Lad} on Thursday, May 24, 2001 - 02:43 pm: |
I dont mind the heat yeah, cuz it means that us working lads can rip off our shirts while we're working yeah, and all the sexy birds walking by the building site can get an eyeful of all the PURE BRITISH BEEF on display yeah. LOL.
Anyroad there wuz this bird walking past our building site yesterday right, and my mate Trev yelled out "Show us yer tits!" which cracked all us lads up cuz its just so funny no matter how many times you've heard it yeah, and anyroad this snobby tart shouted back "Show us ya cock then!" and so Trev just dropped his trousers to the ground straight away and flashed his MEAT & TWO VEG at this fucking slagging bird walking past our building site yeah!!! Anyraod, some of the lads were so inspired by his bravery and sense of humour that they dropped their trousers to the dirt too, and shoved thier MEAT & TWO VEG out for this bitch to see as well!! Such a laff it was. Hilarious, I gotta admit. Anyraod, I kept my LUNCH in my undies just cuz I knew where this bird's car wuz parked and I thought that if acted a bit classy and dignified and then I followed her there I might get a bit of action, you know, cuz I think she would have liked that, but my foreman was watching me so I had to keep shovelling, yeah.
Hello to the sexy Coping ladies anyraod. Ya know I love you all, yeah.
Luv,
Micky

wow - Micky can take any topic and suck out its soul....
By Big Brett on Thursday, May 24, 2001 - 10:18 pm: |
HAHAHA, that was the funniest story I heard in a long while, I think mickys influence must have rubbed off on the lads at the building site.
I like the heat too, gives me a change to show off my tits HAHAHABOOMBOOM!
By Butter~Mobile on Thursday, May 24, 2001 - 11:41 pm: |
I'm sorry, but I have to say this is a completely wanky topic any way. An old Coper (I presume) named "divine" began this...now, if the name is anything to go by, give me the current "generation" of people leaving messages here any day. Even "ANGIE! LIL KITTEN!" at least makes me giggle.
All these sacred cow "Old" Copers! I'm sick of hearing about them!
I'm old enough! How much older do you want me to be?
Huff huff huff!
By Lucky on Friday, May 25, 2001 - 07:07 am: |
What's so "wanky" about someone who misses someone else?
By The Occifer on Friday, May 25, 2001 - 07:30 am: |
Nothing, Luckster. I think she means that it's wanky to persistently deride the current incarnations of Coping and BC by whinging & whining that the old Coping board was oh so much better and the the now long gone Copers were oh so much smarter, funnier, nicer & generally more entertaining than anyone else could possibly even dream of becoming. You know the sentiment? I think it burns her wick & that's what she was going on about.
By Butter~Mobile on Saturday, May 26, 2001 - 10:34 am: |
Yes, that's absolutely exactly what I was going on about. Thanks for articulating it so well, Occifer~person. Also, these "old" Copers never seem to say anything apart from pondering as to what happened to the other old Copers. It sounds like some mutually exclusive little club, & the impression I get is that these people knew each other well enough to at least know one another's email addresses. So can't the Old Copers just email these other Old Copers & find out where they went?
Sorry if it sounds as though I'm taking it PERSONALLY (not to mention, too seriously). I'm sure they were a fine lot. It just gets a bit...dreary.
By Lucky on Saturday, May 26, 2001 - 12:32 pm: |
Okay.
By Big Brett on Saturday, May 26, 2001 - 07:24 pm: |
I can consider myself an old coper now and the most dominant coper!
So be warned, just so you know who's boss since one or 2 of you need keeping under control sometimes
HAHAHABOOMBOOM
By indigo on Sunday, May 27, 2001 - 08:45 am: |
If you're an old coper, then I'm an old coper... hmm, do you ever feel like those fans that argue over the precise date they decided to adore a band? Like the Manics- "old" fans and "new" fans.
By Ad on Sunday, May 27, 2001 - 06:41 pm: |
Old (in every sense) chatter 'Ad' still exists you'll be pleased to hear, no doubt. I went away for a year around the world and wrote it all down. Come back to find Gorrilaz making some nice tunes. Smashing. You can read the whole tedious travel diary here if you like. So, do we still like blur these days?
By indigo on Monday, May 28, 2001 - 12:12 pm: |
