Gorillaz back in at number 4 as well. Album at number 3. Even the rudeboys at our school like Clint Eastwood- I wonder if they know it's Damon.
By indigo on Monday, April 2, 2001 - 08:50 pm: |
I know, it's kind of disorientating to hear Damon's gorgeous voice bleating out of the stereo in a classroom full of tarty would-be goths in Korn hoodies. I just ordered Gorillaz off Amazon.... oooh! And Muse were on a video of Top of the Pops I found in a drawer from a couple of weeks ago, playing Plug In Baby, and I have now realised that this song has the worlds most brilliant intro!
By TobyZ on Tuesday, April 3, 2001 - 01:17 am: |
Sorry indigo, but Led Zeppelin's "Out on the Tiles" has the most brilliant intro.
By ZACH+---- on Tuesday, April 3, 2001 - 02:05 am: |
It does have a great intro dosent it toby? John bonham hast to be the greatist drummer of all time, hands down!
By TobyZ on Tuesday, April 3, 2001 - 02:29 am: |

Dr. Zaius, Dr. Zaius,
Oh oh, Rock me Dr. Zaius!
Another brilliant Simpson's song parody!
By indigo on Tuesday, April 3, 2001 - 04:56 pm: |
they crack me up! and you know whats really sad? i think i know the words to every single one. damn this treacherous memory!
By nathallie on Tuesday, April 3, 2001 - 09:08 pm: |
one word: rudeboys?
my first listen of "clint eastwood" came from radio 1 rip i got off napster. damon's verse is lovely, but the rapping bit sounds a bit ridiculous - like fake rapping trying to sound both bad and inspirational at the same time. however, i've since heard the song played on the local radio, and it fits in much better, though damo's vocals aren't as light and poppy
hm, as much as i'm religiously devoted to the simpsons, i'll keep it in my heart for now, to save it from becoming beatle-esque (with a sort of hollow, impersonal feeling that comes with being everyone's sweetheart...)
smile & have a great day!
love, nat.

I have always hated Radio 1 (for no reason, I never listen to it, just on principle) and now I have a true reason. In one art lesson today (about 1 and 1/2 hours) they played that SHIT garage remix of Clint Eastwood with Damons lovely vocals sounding like a FUCKING CHIPMUNK three entire times! aaaaaaaggghhhhh
on second thoughts, I may have inhaled too much glue and fixative - damn sculpture crap. please, somebody tell me that i didnt imagine this terrible remix!
By Lucky on Wednesday, April 4, 2001 - 06:28 pm: |
You didn't imagine this terrible remix.
By floppy on Thursday, April 5, 2001 - 02:13 am: |
nathallie if i can recall correctly, you are from toronto, yes? are you saying that you actually heard gorillaz here? which station?
By TobyZ on Thursday, April 5, 2001 - 12:28 pm: |
You can never inhale too much glue and fixative. Same goes for Black Markers.
By nathallie on Thursday, April 5, 2001 - 10:30 pm: |
102.1 the edge... (now also 640 am - the "edge experiment") - i taped alex cross's (i think it was him) interview with damon about gorillaz, when the lovely lad stopped by the station unexpectedly. so they played a few gorillaz songs then, but they play them also quite often when doing the "new rock groundbreakers" bit and also last sunday, at 8 pm, on the "new rock preview" or something or other or whatever they call it. alright? quite a lengthy response for a direct question, but oh well!
i'll take your advice, eh micky tobtob zee?
(yes, i am aware i will get shot for calling you that, quite possibly by you)
great day to all!
~ love, nat.
By TobyZ on Friday, April 6, 2001 - 12:27 pm: |
You certainly will get shot for calling me that because I am TOTALLY not Mickey! LOL! He's brilliant, but please give me some credit.
Though I will admit to posting as somebody else on occasion, and ONLY Stereopop knows my other secret identity.
By indigo on Friday, April 6, 2001 - 04:39 pm: |
talking of secret identities, nobody has guessed my real name yet! oh well, i suppose i'll have to stay a mystery, wrapped in an enigma...
By nittaya on Friday, April 6, 2001 - 08:43 pm: |
indigo, you've been indigo for as long as i remember...
ah ha tobes, i didn't mean to imply you were mickey - just worked out that your first name is the same as his (hm, really? you think he's brilliant?)
ooh well, have a great day you all! (ah gots ta go do some little research on Lyme Disease... oh the fun!)
love, nat.
By indigo on Saturday, April 7, 2001 - 01:26 pm: |
mmmm, Lymes Disease.

Complete the Simpsons song. I'll go first...
"See my vest
See my vest
Made of genuine gorilla chest
See my sweater
There's no better
Than authentic Irish setter..."
Now someone give the next six lines...
By R~S~P on Thursday, April 12, 2001 - 12:23 pm: |
"See this hat, 'twas my cat,
My evening wear - vampire bat,
These white slippers are albino
African endangered rhino..."
Who's next?
By Butter~Twirré on Thursday, April 12, 2001 - 04:00 pm: |
I would love to continue, but I must be one of the few people in the world who doesn't know the tune the words have to match with.
So, come on, come on...Carry on.
By R~S~P on Thursday, April 12, 2001 - 11:21 pm: |
"Grizzly bear underwear,
Turtles' necks, I've got my share,
Beret of poodle, on my noodle
It shall rest,
Try my red robin suit,
It comes one breast or two,
See my vest, see my vest,
See my vest..."
Next line's my favourite. Anybody?
By Si on Friday, April 13, 2001 - 12:15 am: |
"Like my loafers? Former gophers,
It was that or skin my chauffeurs.
But a greyhound fur tuxedo
Would be best.."
By indigo on Friday, April 13, 2001 - 11:23 am: |
Right, deep breath....
Some men hunt for sport,
Others hunt for food,
The only thing I'm hunting for,
Is an outfit that looks good...
See my vest, see my vest,
Made from real gorilla chest,
Feel this sweater, there's no better,
Than authentic Irish setter.
See this hat, 'twas my cat,
My evening wear - vampire bat,
These white slippers are albino
African endangered rhino.
Grizzly bear underwear,
Turtles' necks, I've got my share,
Beret of poodle, on my noodle
It shall rest,
Try my red robin suit,
It comes one breast or two,
See my vest, see my vest,
See my vest.
Like my loafers? Former gophers -
It was that or skin my chauffeurs,
But a greyhound fur tuxedo
Would be best,
So let's prepare these dogs,
Mrs. Potts: Kill two for matching clogs,
Burns: See my vest, see my vest,
Oh please, won't you see my vest.
Oh, and Butter~Twirré, the tune is "Be My Guest" from Beauty and the Beast.
