Because I love Coping so much, I am going to stay at home and get pissed with my computer and make sure I am the first to post on the New Year.

And wasn't the Y2K bug a quick fade, just think one year ago and "the Man" was telling us that everything would be fucked.

What changed in your life in the last year??

Just got older and grew me finger nails long. Pretty good year actually.

The last one, mixed with a little of the 2nd and more of the 3rd is what my New Year's Eve "bash" is looking like. It's gonna suck.

Oh yeah, and we called up people to wish them a happy new year. There were 3 of us, so we got on 3 phones at my mate's house and did that daft WASSUUUUP thing from Scary Movie. We got hung-up on. Ha Ha.

I had a great party,just me and my friends getting a bit drunk at home, but the bloody power cut out at 9.30! We stood it for a few hours, but by 11.30 it was bloody freezing, all the food was cold or uncooked, all my mates were too pissed for me to light candles and all the batteries in the torches had run out.

Really sad this.... I was reduced to phoning my parents and their friends to see if we could go to their party for midnight! And my mum said I could only bring round my sane and sober friends (at this point, that was one girl and me!) so i had to offload a couple of gatecrashers I barely knew at a friends house.

It actually turned out really fun. We all went round to my parents, and they were pissed out of their heads and playing party games. We sat in the kitchen and drank 3 bottles of champagne, sand Auld Lang Syne and ended up playing charades at 2am. hee heee hee!

that sounds wicked, indigo! mine was crap, i got invited out by my friends, but i'd already arranged to go to wales with my family, to stay in a hotel out of 'The Shining' in a village out of 'The league of gentlemen', with a few annoying relations. i get on great with my mum and dad, it's just the others who annoy the hell out of me. and i have to pretend i'm having a great time. next year, i'm just going to do what the fuck i like! wahey!

The Shining? I stayed in a YMCA like it in New York - it was a huge place with about 15 floors, and the corridor looked exactly the same as that bit where he's riding round past the unlocked door... same carpet, doors, everything! My mate locked our key in our room (we were both in our pyjamas at this point, holding washbags) the night we got there. It was 11pm, I hadn't slept for 2 days, and we had to sit in this freezing cold, empty corridor waiting for the key for 2 hours (after having made idiots of ourselves in reception with puzzled security guards). My mate is obsessed with The Shining and kept going "oh, yeah, those twins and the blood and the floating furniture, this looks like there!" until I hyperventilated and almost passed out. Then some Swedish woman appeared with the key and we both screamed!

Oh my God that was an embarrassing night - anyone else ever have a Shining related experience?
