I just went downstairs to watch the simpsons on sky but my housemate was watching hollyoaks. This pissed me off as there is only thing I ever watch on tv and that is the simpsons (ok, I'll admit it, that and late night Men and Motors channel)and my housemates watch Nieghbours, Home and away, hollyoaks, then Emmerdale, then corrie and then Eastenders every night. Or it seems like it.
Anyway, I was making a sandwich and wasn't really paying any attention to the tv when my housemate's boyfriend said the one of the characters looked like Damon Albran. I looked, and he does you know. Ben his name is.
They probably aren't related or anything but they do look similar enough to be...

have a great day luvs!

In my personal, erm, ever-humble opinion...The Simpsons is the most over-rated TV show of the last 10 years. Now dont get me wrong, I dont hate it, in fact I dont even dislike it...but I just cant understand why SO many people think its SO clever. Can you? I mean, I dont think its clever at all. Sure, cleverer than the vast majority of other TV shows, but that really isnt saying much. I respect the show for what it is, I think they do it well. But I dont think its SO amazingly clever and sharp and quick-witted and it sure as hell isnt the slick social commentary that people seem to want to say it is. Ahh whatever, nighty night.

Hollyoaks is essential. And it's Finn that looks like Damon. Stand up Mr. James Redmond, the actor, he's one hellova guy.
Hollyoaks love Blur. Their music can often be heard in a digetic & non-digetic capacity. And not just the hits - I've heard Blue Jeans, BadHead etc along with the much used singles.

p.s. - I met Mrs. Nancy Cartwright, the *voice* of Bart Simpson yesterday. She has to be heard to be believed.

I used to love the Simpsons - it was the best thing on TV for years, but it seems to have lost its way - remind you of anyone?
I hate Hollyoaks! Its always on TV when theres nothing else on - its kind of compulsively bad.

I used to love Hollyoaks.
The bizzare thing is, about half an hour ago, I was thinking how morbid the programme was, with all the constant character deaths, and here we are talking about Hollyoaks on Coping.
They took it off tele just after Olly and Stan died. Which was a very long time ago.

I think The Simpsons panders to the severely limited intelligences of folks who think they are actually a bit smarter than the rest. Severely limited intelligences, hmm, yes that would be one of the most inherent features of an average American. A slick social satire? Humph. More like a worldwide excuse to regress to the anal stage of human development and giggle at funny lil yellow people on screen who actually arent very funny at all.
OK, OK. I put my hands up. Yes, sometimes they are funny. And yes, sometimes the show is smart. I do think it's better than the vast majority of TV shows out there. But overall - no, its not great.
I propose a test. Ready? Here it is...You know these people who say they are big Simpsons fans? Well, sit down and watch an episode with them. Go on, do it. Then watch them and see how often they actually laugh. Go on, do it! They WANT to think that it's funny, and they WANT to think that it's smart...but if truth be told, they just like the warm, comfy feeling of watching familiar, nice, yellow characters doing ever so slightly amusing things.
Yeah, that's it.
