This hasn't been done recently, so what do you think? My favourites are polished stone, young and lovely, all your life, black book and swallows in the heatwave. But my favourite at the moment is bone bag.
By Eddy on Friday, October 20, 2000 - 08:43 am: |
Does the song "Bone Bag" refer to the scrotum??
By kacy on Friday, October 20, 2000 - 02:23 pm: |
Er, I don't think so, but that's an idea. It's probably my fave too. I also really like St. Louis, Mr. Briggs and Explain.

I DONT LIKE ANY OF BLURS B-SIDES CUZ THEY JUST SLACK ON THEM CUZ THEY THINK THEY ISNT IMPORTANT!
BLACK BOOK JUST SUCKS. HOW TO BECOME SUICIDAL IN 8 MINUTES
By Ian on Saturday, October 21, 2000 - 12:15 am: |
Oh Brett, really. No, Brett. No. I have to stop you there. Brett...Brett...BRETT!
I like Black Book. And Young and Lovely. And Magpie. Bustin' and Dronin' is also good. So You...that's not bad. Does Day upon Day count as a B-side? Fedging marvellous tune.
By Joe on Saturday, October 21, 2000 - 01:27 pm: |
Hee...bone bag.
By Big Brett on Saturday, October 21, 2000 - 09:29 pm: |
BLERGH! blur b-sides are shit Ian
that proves my point doesn't it?
Although theme from imaginary film woz a decent tune

I've heard most of the B sides. Let's just say Blur are one of the greatest A sides bands of the past decade and leave it at that.
By Lucky on Sunday, October 22, 2000 - 01:53 pm: |
Magpie, Tame, Young and Lovely, Can't Explain, Swallows in the Heatwave, French Song... Sure to be others, but I can't remember.
I love All Your Life, but it makes me feel incredibly sad for some reason.
By Joe on Sunday, October 22, 2000 - 07:37 pm: |
Tame is great, as is The Man Who Left Himself...both on Stereotypes, surely making it Blur's best ever single.
By jonathan on Monday, October 23, 2000 - 05:13 pm: |
swallows in the heatwave, for me, is up there with blur's very very best - and Young and Lovely is sublime too.
By Lucky on Monday, October 23, 2000 - 06:44 pm: |
YES The Man Who Left Himself would be one of those said 'others'. Damn, I'm ashamed I didn't remember that, it was so good.
By indigo on Monday, October 23, 2000 - 08:59 pm: |
fucking hell it always pisses me off that i dont know any b-sides - i dont buy singles if i know im buying the album (because they're £3 and that mounts up if you like about 10 songs a week) and I really can't be arsed to download MP3 software and mp3s cos id have to reconfigure the memory on the bloody computer.
However, i made an exception for black book cos u all siad it was good and im not getting the best of, and I LOVE IT!

ST Louis, SWALLOWS IN THE HEATWAVE, blackbook, so you.
i always like it when they do live album tracks as b sides though.
By OOoom Papa on Thursday, October 26, 2000 - 06:32 am: |
I hate it when a band releases live album tracks as b-sides! How boring.
B-sides I like are Bustin & Dronin, Polished Stone, All Your Life, Dancehall, So You, Tame and The Man Who Left Himself. And maybe even No Monsters In Me.
By Ian on Thursday, October 26, 2000 - 02:29 pm: |
Piffle. The live For Tomorrow B-side on "Country House" kicks arse.
By boy on Thursday, October 26, 2000 - 04:53 pm: |
I've changed my mind since I last posted on here.
My favourites are all your life, swallows in the heatwave, tame, no monsters in me, theme from an imaginary film, luminous, day upon day and threadneedle street
By Eddy on Friday, October 27, 2000 - 01:43 pm: |
Get Out Of Cities is a good one, how come no one aint mentioned that.
By Ian on Friday, October 27, 2000 - 04:11 pm: |
"AND JUST LOOK WHO'S LAUGHING!"
Theme From An Imaginary Film really pisses me off, I love Damon and all but when he sings that line I want to smack him on the head...he sounds like the class show-off on a day trip, gurning like a little chimp.
By blur on Friday, October 27, 2000 - 05:20 pm: |
the worst blur b-side is without question tell me tell me
By indigo on Friday, October 27, 2000 - 08:20 pm: |
Oh, actually I do know the other bsides that are on the Starshaped vid. I have to say that I like Day upon Day as well.
By Big Brett on Friday, October 27, 2000 - 08:24 pm: |
Damon reminds me of the little shit who used to make fun of me in my maths class back in my school days and I smacked him flying. I never felt so good in my life
By Thomas Williams on Friday, October 27, 2000 - 09:29 pm: |
Yeah!
By Joe on Sunday, October 29, 2000 - 06:13 pm: |
I can understand it. Graham is the best these days...him and Alex. And Dave too...actually it's just Damon who I find irritating at the moment. Don't you love Alex's Q column? Sheer genius.
By kacy on Monday, October 30, 2000 - 03:14 am: |
Aw, I love Damon. He just comes off strangely sometimes due to his somewhat schizoid personality. He's bratty sometimes, always has been, but to me that's part of his charm. I can identify strongly with misunderstood brats who everyone thinks are arrogant as hell, but really they're just insecure and desperate for acceptance/attention. ;)
By Eddy on Monday, October 30, 2000 - 11:33 am: |
I don't understand Alex's Q column. Just intellectual bollocks really.
