Is it because people just can't be arsed or because no-one comes across it anymore?
It used to be so busy here yet all the regulars seem to have vanished.
Blurchat seems busy enough, I hope this is just another dead phase and Coping will get back to it's normal self once again.
It is the *best* messageboard on the web even though it's such a small community!
So come on! Let's get coping back to what it was.

Real life is full of enough shit without dealing with the bullshit on here. Coping was more enjoyable when I didn't get involved in people's private disputes. You get caught up in several scraps, made to take sides, and what the hell does it ever amount to? What's the point? It brings noone together, no "friends" are made, no bonds formed, no camaraderie.
I've stopped posting regularly because there's too few people having too many personality clashes. There can be no middle ground with so much disagreement and dislike, shared by so few. Minor disagreements going on wouldn't matter if only you didn't know any of the people involved outside the safety of the Internet, or even just as people you email and *know* in a quasi personal sense. It's too annoying.
It would be easier if more people posted so there was a less repressive atmosphere. You can't treat some Copers as ordinary people with strengths and weaknesses but as 'the leaders' who know everything. I do in fact disagree very drastically with several people here (not just for things written here, but in *private*) and I don't seem to have much in common with anyone. There's an 'I think, therefore I am [right]'/ 'I am, therefore it is' mentality coupled with territorial nonsense. It's gotten beyond a joke.

Along with that there was fierce hostility amongst 'groups' vs other 'groups' and with fucked up interpersonal hatred and resentment going on within those groups anyway.

To show how confusing it was for me: some Copers have been at war with other Copers for being dishonest, meanwhile others are getting on each other's wicks just in general; some demand their fucked up cyberrelationships be dealt with, to some having felt mistreated; some insult others but insist the insults should not be taken personally whilst some find everyone and everything a big, fat bore. Cyberpsychofuckin'melodrama. It's only a message board and it might seem I'm taking it too seriously, but Fuck Coping! I hate it!

There's been disagreement in the air since as long as I can remember, and I was posting all throughout it. Some of it held intrigue and was entertaining/some of it became alternately dull and infuriating. The most recent 'disagreement in the air' for me had nought to do with anything specifically written on Coping. Believe it or not, I can have disagreements all by myself and I'm not merely playing Zach to Ana's stereopop. I was only answering the question, and providing a vagueish summary of several ugly spats I've either been in or heard about to demonstrate how annoying Coping became for me.
Anyway, all this is sounding like I've a chip the size of a crater on my shoulder and hate everyone (which I don't), so yeah I'll pipe down and in future take care to follow the fine example set by indigo!

Ah, I'm listening to Maladroit - I just put it in my comp, and it has a lovely little enhanced section, with about 6 live videos on, very nicely designed. BUT my computer will play the videos, not the sound. I suppose it serves me right for buying cheap pirate/import copies. Not sure which it is, but it came from Hong Kong via Germany, costing me a fantabulous £8.99! oh, and it has Island In The Sun on it... that was on Weezer's last album wasn't it? Odd.

Coping has ups and downs. I guess it all depends upon how you feel on a given day how you take ambiguous statements. Despite the fact that certain individuals don't meet my criteria, it doesn't really matter. If I saw one of them in the street, and recognised them, I'd still be friendly enough, I wouldnae punch them on the nose, or anything. Of course i'm as guilty as the next man for knocking people, and being silly. But it's all good clean fun, innit?
